VOL 2 | CHAPTER 91: | THE DESTRUCTION OF ATLANTIS | 12

  CHAPTER 91: | THE DESTRUCTION OF ATLANTIS | 12

  ---

The world turned into a deafening gray as the water throughout the abyss pulsed like the heart of a colossal entity.

  Thud... Thud.. Thud! Thud! Thud!

The heartbeat grew faster and faster as the currents trembled, then quaked, turning the world a darker gray as the pressure of the water deepened.

The pressure felt as if a god were pressing its thumb on an ant, it was both heavy and authoritative.

I gazed at the cocoon, which was about to hatch Varuna's final form, a being whose mastery of water was unmatched among mortals.

It was even more impressive that he had created, no, imitated, the machinations of a living dragon and crafted a spell that embodied a true dragon from his own understanding.

I then gazed at Tellus, his younger brother, who was now a true earth dragon, though half-baked, as Varuna couldn't truly replicate the machinations of a true dragon.

Still, ideas swirled in my head about how to maximize my mana pathways.

The wonder of Varuna's knowledge of mana-circuit formation, the study and creation of mana pathways, which varied from person to person, was remarkable.

Perhaps I could call him one of the top 'mana-architect-researchers' I had ever met.

'Such a pity that he's born from a mortal world... A mind as great as that could perhaps make historical progress given a million years.'

  Pondering, I stroked my chin.

"Maybe this complex mana-circuit formation could be used as a reference to create god-veins..."

With a flick of my hand, a book protected by my mana appeared, shielding it's contents from the surrounding water.

I smirked as I flipped its pages and read with inhuman speed.

Stopping on a certain page, I smirked with a joy worth celebrating, since I'd made some progress.

"I see... So what I've found here is the foundation that will become the backbone of god-veins. Maybe with my extensive knowledge, I could flesh it out."

I smiled as an image appeared in my mind, my body generating a god-vein every second, arranging itself with its own collective will.

The thought was too good, and I couldn't allow myself to be disillusioned right now.

"This is good... I've got a clue on how to start my research on god-veins, the very veins that would support me in my lazy lifestyle to the zenith of existence."

Tellus watched his master mumbling nonsensical stuff, now reading a book filled with sentences and ideas as nonsensical as they could be.

He shook his head with pity.

"It seems that my Master is trapped in a delusion... I guess it's still better than falling to an inner demon, right?!"

His worries weren't baseless, as the information in the book his Master read was too fantastical to be real.

The theories were so vague and 'sagely' that they bordered on insanity, and were too complex for a mind as simple as his to understand.

Tellus looked at the content once more but stopped, as reading something this complex would only give his small brain a headache.

He shifted his attention to the glacial-blue cocoon, analyzing the mana of the being within, who was called Varuna.

His eyes trembled as he saw it, the mana wavelength of the being hibernating in the cocoon was increasing by the minute, shooting from twenty thousand to a staggering twenty-five thousand units of mana in just a few minutes.

He was in disbelief that the transformation was so overpowered.

  "Something is odd..."

He peered again at the man in the center of the cocoon, seeing his draconian body transforming into something more human with a handsome appearance.

He gazed at Varuna, tucked with his face on his kneecap as he was hunched, sleeping peacefully.

His royal-blue hair flowed gently like the waves of the sea.

It was familiar, but he couldn't quite put his finger on who he was.

Well, he knew his name was Varuna, but where had he met him?

Who was he in his life?

He was curious, as this sense of familiarity had been bugging his mind from the first time he saw him.

  "Just who are you, Varuna?"

  Tellus muttered with curiosity.

He shook his head, then gazed at his Master, who was holding a different book and jotting notes down with lightning speed.

His quill danced across the page with an elegance only the high-born could claim.

His handwriting was a work of art, too beautiful to be anything but stored in a museum.

"Impressive... to be able to write with such skills, as if he's mastered the art of writing like he was a... god, the god of writing!"

His penmanship felt alive, the way his hands moved was like the apex of royal etiquette.

His red eyes were alluringly seductive as he was focused...

  "..."

"W-wait... why am I saying this stuff?! I'm not homosexual... I like plump ladies... so why am I saying this stuff?!"

  Tellus was in disbelief.

Even with his thick skull, he could understand that he wasn't homosexual, so why was he saying these things?!

But he couldn't help but remember those alluring eyes...

He stopped, then gazed below with gloom.

"A-am I... starting to like guys?! Master is handsome, extremely handsome, that even me, the straightest of the straightest guy, felt homosexual for a moment... it's understandable to feel this way..."

He bit his lips in confusion and shouted.

  "Damnit! I'm a man, aren't I?!"

Tellus continued his rumblings as I closed my own research notes and shifted my gaze at him with amusement before storing my book in my inventory.

"You're not a homosexual, Tellus... but you're just enchanted by my beauty! Bwahahaha... look at me straight in the eye, then tell me how handsome I am!"

Tellus hesitated to look at his Master's face, fearing he would become a homosexual.

He bit his lips, then turned his head, muttering softly.

"Umm... you know, Summoner, that words alone won't be enough to describe your beauty, right?"

I gazed at him and nodded.

Tellus shook his head, then narrowed his eyes and continued.

"But if I rate it on a scale of ten... the answer would be ten, since who could possess a face as beautiful as yours?"

  Tellus's words were right.

Who but I alone could possess such a handsome face?

But still, I was quite flabbergasted that Samantha, a woman who would instantly fall for my handsome face in every cycle, would reject me.

"I think you're complimenting me a bit too much, Tellus..."

Tellus, confused, gazed at me and tilted his head like a silly brown husky.

"What do you mean, Summoner?! Summoner, stop jesting, aren't you too much as to say that I'm complimenting you too much? Even I would fall for you with your face alone if I was a woman! So what do you mean by 'complimenting me too much'!"

Tellus was outraged at his Summoner's humbleness.

He gazed at him, pondering something.

His eyelashes fluttered as his blood-colored lips were dangerously alluring to watch as he smiled.

"Then tell me... why is my destined woman resisting me after I proposed to her the day we met?"

Tellus was dumbfounded by his Summoner's words.

'Sure he has a face that no one would forget, but proposing the day you met someone? Nah, that's just too nonsensical. It wouldn't work.'

He gazed at his Summoner, then bit his lips, troubled by how to answer his question without bruising his ego.

But before he could ponder any longer, his Summoner gazed at him and said flatly.

"Don't worry about what you said... I wouldn't take it to heart."

  Tellus nodded, then stated blatantly.

"Summoner! Proposing to someone you just met?! Isn't that a huge red flag?! Like, who would actually fall for a handsome man who approaches them and says, 'I love you! Be with me, marry me!'? Are you insane, Summoner?! Only a fool would fall for something like that!"

His Summoner simply pondered his words coldly, which shocked him.

He puffed his chest and shouted.

"But don't worry, Summoner! I know a way to ensnare any woman. With your unmatched face, getting any woman to bed shouldn't be a problem!"

  I pondered his words.

I pretty much don't have to worry about bedding any woman without saying anything since they would approach me with lustful intent.

'Well, could lust be connected to love? I questioned this because I still don't understand that concept, even after countless lifetimes and reading about the difference between the two emotions in famous books from different worlds.'

Tellus looked at me for a moment, then nodded as he scanned me from head to toe, remarking.

"Master, getting a woman to fall in love with you and not just to bed you is simple... Talk to them with words as sweet as honey! Please them, but don't be a simp!"

'Ohhh, as expected of a being who feels emotions, he's a master in this field! Amazing indeed. So, what I should have done when I met Samantha earlier was to compliment her, then sweet-talk her until she falls for me, and then make promises and such... it's just like... deceiving a young girl using a candy!'

I smiled, now enlightened on how to deal with Samantha, as I raised my hand. I felt it... a subtle shift in the atmosphere.

As Varuna was now wide awake, Tellus, too, stopped offering his words of wisdom.

He took a stance and cast a spell, a massive greatsword, formed from his body, appeared above him.

"Summoner, this guy is finally awake..."

I nodded at his words as I couldn't help but acknowledge it.

Varuna's hand quivered subtly as his eyes slowly opened inside the cocoon.

I peered inside with my perception.

  ---

  Varuna opened his eyes.

'My daughter, did you die a painful death?'

'Was this the end? I felt it, my fate is at its end... my daughter, oh, my lovely daughter... I just hope that you're living well...'

He stretched his hand lazily, touching the ceiling of the cocoon.

His hand, now covered in starlight, pierced through it as if it were butter.

Varuna could hear the sound of two voices conversing from a distance.

He smiled, then put in more effort.

As the sound of flesh tearing apart like wet parchment echoed, he gazed at the dark water above him with a strange calmness as his body stirred from a sentence.

"This sound is quite familiar... it's like the flesh of Aubrey tearing apart with my every bite... yes, it's similar, but not quite. It felt like when I'm putting my five fingers inside of her... or maybe when I put my two-meter dick inside of her... yeah, that felt right. The sound of her vaginal canal tearing as she gazed at me calmly... it was alluring, but too beastly for my taste, so I killed her."

Tellus gazed at his Summoner as if he was insane, shaking his head.

"Summoner, that's not how you do it... you need to do it like this! The first step is foreplay, then making her wet, especially with your massive dick. Then, you put it inside, and ba-dam! It's done without her feeling any pain!"

  Varuna furrowed his brows.

That voice was too familiar to forget.

It was as if his dead brother, Tellus, was speaking right now, with his words of wisdom that led to nowhere but trouble.

  "Tellus...?"

He asked, but he didn't receive an answer.

He clenched his fist, then clawed his way out of the cocoon as he felt like something dangerous was brewing on the horizon.

  "...!"

Now free from the cocoon's restraint, Varuna gazed around.

He saw a colossal entity in front of him... a majestic whale shark.

  He felt something was amiss.

It was like the presence of his beloved brother, Tellus, was inside that man... not just his imagination running wild, but literally.

Then he heard it, that familiar voice.

"So, Summoner, how do you feel after fusing with me?!"

I smirked, then glanced at my body.

It was now a mile long with a slick build, not fat like before.

I nodded, looking at my spotted body, which was supposedly white but was now golden thanks to my affinity.

"I feel great... I think my strength just doubled after our fusion... but it's too ineffective, don't you think so, Tellus?"

  "Tellus."

That word was his brother's name.

Varuna gazed at the man coldly as he asked.

"How did you summon the remnant of my brother, outsider? And what did you mean about Aubrey earlier?! What did you do to my daughter!"

  His composure was lost.

Varuna's calm demeanor, which had been untouched by none, was now broken with rage.

But the man in question... me, Alister von Fai, just gazed at him.

I chuckled, then activated 'Fallen Lord Descension,' a skill that drained five hundred units of my mana.

As a pair of gauntlets materialized into existence.

They then fused with my form, covering my body in ornate golden armor as I smirked.

"Well, you mean Tellus? Why don't you greet your brother, Tellus? His name is Varuna."

  Tellus glanced at Varuna.

Since we shared the same vision, he nodded unapologetically.

"Summoner, you don't need my approval to decimate this man before us. Whether he is my brother or not, as long as I'm your contracted elemental, I, Tellus, shall serve you with my utmost loyalty!"

Varuna clenched his fist as he shouted.

"Then what about my daughter, Aubrey! What did you do to her!"

I smirked as I recalled the gruesome mess I had made of her.

"Well, just from what you heard earlier. I ate her, fingered her, fucked her, and killed her brutally along with her brother and fiancé. So, do you have any more questions?"

Varuna's body trembled as he clenched his fist, but his face didn't distort in the slightest as tears flowed down his cheeks.

  "I see..."

  His words were calm.

He wasn't enraged by the death of his only daughter, instead, he gazed at the sky-ocean with a sigh.

"Truly, could we not escape our fate? I've been refining my skills and planning for the future, but I've failed a hundred and one times at stopping my daughter's dreadful death... don't you think that I'm unworthy to be a father, outsider?"

He gazed at his enemy, the man who ate his daughter, not with rage, but with a face that told me he was too tired.

"All I wanted was for her to live a life like any other... but the heavens dictated that she shall die with pain."

He smiled as his tears turned red, into blood, as he spread both of his hands.

His face was filled with despair as he chuckled.

"The heavens are cruel! It wanted my daughter dead! I killed! I tortured! I-I... I did everything... for what?"

The words that Varuna spoke were filled with no context, but I felt it in his voice, the sorrow, the loss, the sadness, the insanity that he felt.

"I apologize for not giving her a swift death... but it just felt like it was the right thing to do at the right moment."

  Varuna chuckled, then shouted.

"You don't need to apologize. You're not at fault! It's the heavens' will, unbreakable and ever-powerful! Even I have killed her tens of times! With my own hand!"

  Varuna was breaking.

He cried blood as he shouted again.

"Tell me your name, outsider! I at least want to know the killer of my daughter before I rest for eternity!"

  "..."

"Isn't that too drastic? You could live with her in your next life..."

But then a realization hit me.

  "Oh... I devoured her soul."

  Varuna cackled with insanity.

"See! It's not drastic! I'm just dying for good. Devour me so that I can meet my daughter inside of your stomach! Please... I beg you to devour me... do me a favor... please!"

I sighed at the pathetic sight that Varuna had become.

He was too unstable, so I smiled.

"I see... then at least tell me your story."

Maybe give it a try? ??
