Chapter 30
Hot arid sand filled the air. The blue sky covered by the menacing swarm of dust covering the noon day sun. This entire planet could have been confused for Egypt, if it wasn’t for the three moons hovering in the sky. Amos and Reva were walking in the dry desert of Abyddos covered in brown robes aimed at concealing their identity, when they noticed a large structure before them.
“That pyramid, over there in the distance,” said Reva eager to make it to their destination.
The Skidbladnir had arrived on Abyddos in order to resurrect Sha’re. Before they arrived on the planet however, Amos and his team poured over the SGC mission reports in order to figure out if there was anything else on Abyddos that they needed before they resurrected Sha’re. In one report, Reva found that SG1 had discovered an alien artifact called the Eye of Ra, an ancient relic told to hold immense power.
Back on the ship, Freyr had questioned the value of trying to obtain such a device.
“Do you even know what it’s for,” Freyr asked.
“Nope, not yet, however if Anubis wants it, it would be wise for us to get it before he does,” Amos responded.
The two walked their way towards the large Pyramid surrounded by giant obelisks. As they went deeper into the Pyramid they found what appeared to be a hidden chamber, featuring a red jewel surrounded by what appeared to be an image of the Eye of Ra.
“Ok, this is it, Get the red light,” ordered Amos. The two paid close attention to the SGC mission report before they disembarked the Skidbladnir. Ra had put obstacles in place preventing anyone from retrieving the prized relic. However, thanks to SG1, obtaining the legendary device was fairly easy.
“Got it!” said Reva.
The two looked at the brilliant red device, noticing the shape of Ra’s symbol falling off of it when they held it in their hands.
“Does this look like what I think it looks like?” said Amos.
“It appears to be a miniature Zero Point Module,” replied Reva.
Amos printed a Lantean scanner to confirm their suspicions; sure enough, it was a miniature Zero Point Module. “It says here that this device carries 1/6th the power of a Zero Point Module, something like this could come in handy, especially for Anubis,” said Amos. Reva quickly printed a kino and blank disk to scan their new treasure. After copying the device the two left the Pyramid and set off on their mission to find the remains of Sha’re.

Amos and Reva trudged through the sweltering heat of the desert, their wrist matter converters in hand, effortlessly producing bottles of water as needed. As they approached the city, the sprawling expanse of clay towers and the vibrant streets teeming with life came into view. Street vendors and merchants bustled about, immersed in their daily routines. The people of Abydos had flourished since the fall of Ra; liberated from the yoke of a false god, they now embraced peaceful and fulfilling lives.
Navigating through the heart of the Abydonnian city, Amos and Reva made their way to the residence of Kasuf, the esteemed leader of Abydos and father to Sha’re. An unusual sight greeted them as they neared Kasuf’s home—a large tent set against the backdrop of towering stone pillars, rising from the desert floor. Suddenly, the flaps parted, revealing an elderly man, his grey hair a testament to wisdom and experience. He wielded a staff weapon, its glint unmistakable in the sunlight, and stepped out to confront the visitors.
“Who approaches my home?” he demanded, his voice as stern as the weapon he brandished.
Before he could take a step closer, a younger man stepped outside—a calming presence with long, flowing black hair that framed his face. “Aba, please. These travelers do not seem to be of ill intent. Listen to their words and lay down your staff,” he implored, his tone soothing.
Amos and Reva sensed the tension and took a step forward, raising their hands in a gesture of peace. “Please, don’t shoot! We mean you no harm,” Amos called out, his voice steady but respectful. “I am Amos Fyree, and this is my companion Reva. I am a friend of Dr. Daniel Jackson, and I’ve come to pay my respects to your family and to Sha’re.”
When Kasuf and his son heard the name Daniel Jackson, it was as if a giant weight was taken off of them. Kasuf lowered his staff weapon and the young man welcomed Amos and Reva inside of their tent.
“Hello, my name is Skara, this is my father Kasuf. I must apologize, he has become quite fearful of newcomers after the passing of my sister Sha’re. Please sit down, while I go grab us some tea,” he said.
Amos and Reva found themselves sitting down in a large tent surrounded by large carpets with vibrant colors. Soon, Skara returned with four cups of Abydonian tea and what appeared to be a local syrup of some kind.
“So you knew my Daughter?” asked Kasuf.
“No, sir, I’m a friend of Dr. Jackson’s,” he replied, his voice steady yet tinged with compassion. “He told me about what happened to your daughter, Sha’re. I’ve just joined Stargate Command on Earth, hoping to walk in Daniel’s footsteps.”
As the four of them sat together, hours slipped by unnoticed, filled with memories of Daniel, tales of Sha’re, and the malevolence of the Goa’uld that loomed over their lives. Kasuf’s laughter mingled with quiet tears, punctuated by moments of profound silence as he gazed into the distance, lost in thought. Yet, each time Sha’re’s name graced their lips, an undeniable warmth radiated from the old man, a testament to the enduring bond of love that transcended sorrow.
When their cups were emptied and the sun began to dip low in the sky, they made their way to the small grave where Sha’re lay at peace. Gathered around the resting place, they bowed their heads in reverence. With delicate hands, Reva laid a bouquet of roses upon the sunken earth, a final tribute to the beautiful soul they had all cherished.
“Goodbye, good father, thank you for spending time with us this afternoon. We hope that we brought honor to Sha’re’s memory. One day you will be reunited with Sha’re, just hold on a little while longer and when you see her again, all of your pain will melt away ” said Amos.
Kasuf wept and then hugged Reva and Amos for their kind words. Afterwards, Skara and Kasuf left the burial site and went back into their tent.
When the coast was clear, Amos materialized a subspace communicator and contacted Freyr, who was still onboard the ship.
“Fyree to Freyr. Come in please,” whispered Amos.
“Go ahead, Amos,” Freyr responded.
“Lock onto us, as well as the bouquet of roses you should see in front of us. Inside of the bouquet is a locator beacon, underneath that is Sha’re’s grave,” said Amos. “Beam us to the bridge and Sha’re’s remains to the resurrection chamber.
Within seconds, a bright beam of light captured them and took them into space.
