Rot king snake part 2

Riven slapped Veylan out of his thoughts: “We need to act now! Are you there for the plan or do you something else?” Veylan just nodded.

With his new tendril arm he pulled himself easily to the ceiling. Veylan provokes him to fight him, while he distracted the rot king snake Riven extended his eyes abilities to the fullest. Little later the end of the snake’s body was almost perfectly under him; Riven used his tendril arm to grab the snake’s end, he pulled himself towards it and stabbing it with his full force multiple times.

Riven tightly hugged it and continued stabbing, over and over again.

  BAM!

The rot snake king wouldn’t let itself be stabbed forever without doing something against it! It Shaked its back part as strong as it could leading Riven to be smashed against the wall.

Even though Riven suffered much damage, the king also did. Veylan could hear its heavy breath, just for a moment its aura was gone; Veylan noticing its aura slowly coming back he jumped on its face stabbing its eye. Because of that the king retreated back going slowly up the walls.

Veylan went up to Riven, making sure he was okay. “How are you? I really underestimated your plan!” Riven could’ve been worse; but as he stood up, he felt something weird at a rip. His rip is almost broken; because of that they decided that Riven would give Veylan call outs and Veylan tried to end it.

There was still something that Veylan didn’t try, using his own aura. When he felt the king’s aura, he just thought of it as a waste of energy. But for him it was worth a try.

It feels like his aura got stronger, back then fighting the ice turtle his aura felt less threatening and had a smaller reach than now. The king noticed it got down from the walls; it was still injured; it finally suffered also some injuries; the end of its body and one eye are extremely damaged. But the actual reason for Veylan testing his aura now was the same as for the king: sensing.

And it worked! His radios are significantly smaller than the king’s one, but he could easily feel it and also feel Riven. There he thought of something else “The poison drinks!” Something that can heal might damage what it heals?!

Veylan dodged much and almost never got hit; he saw or more felt an opportunity and used it. He threw a little bit of the potion at it, and it seemed to have the same effect as the poison on humans! It screamed in agony, raging and attacking Veylan, planning to bite him. He threw a whole potion into its mouth, the glass broke and it landed in its mouth.

It seemed so bad for it, it even retreated back to the ceiling throwing up everything in its stomach. Veylan thought they finally killed hit but something else happened. Riven seeing this with his Merrik eyes made him think “This is like the second phase of a boss in a video game, isn’t it?”

“Veylan! It’s not over! It begins to shed itself!” This could be their end, Riven is still exhausted from getting the tendril arm and maybe has a broken rip and Veylan has basically no energy left. “There is only one thing left, give me your healing potion; with a good hit I maybe can kill it!”

Riven only saw that it begins to shed; not how long it takes. The king takes so long to shed, they lost their feeling of time completely; maybe they are already a whole day in there?

“If it takes so long to shed, maybe now is the time to attack it. You know it’s impossible for me to get up there; but you, you have a tendril arm now. If you make it up there and maybe give a good hit with the potion you could end it!” Veylan couldn’t see it but Riven looked sick, terribly sick. It’s nothing wrong with him, his body simply hasn’t fully accepted the tendril arm. But Riven ignored it; terrible mistake, his father only needing a day to recover was already fast; most people need weeks, some even months of rest. Not resting could in the best case just make the exhaustion even worse; worst case is an infection.

Riven again, strained his eyes to the fullest, it was even hard to see where the head and where the end of the body was. He pulled himself up to his mouth, his original plan was to throw it again in its mouth; but it didn’t react, the aura was still there but it seemed like the king just ignores Riven. “If it doesn’t open it mouth, why not attack its weak point?” With his tendril arm he pulled himself to the end of his body, throwing a little bit of the potion over it.

It slowly began to move, as it was in deep sleep, seeing this, Riven just threw everything he had at it. No reaction.

It just crawled slowly down the ceiling and walls, leaving its skin up there.

After Riven warned Veylan about everything that happened, he took a look at the king.

At the beginning of the fight, the snake was green and had a grass similar texture, but it changed drastically; after shedding itself, it is wine red with a fire similar texture.

Not only that, but its attack also changed too; instead of biting, it began to spew its rot across the whole room.

Riven never properly looked around the room, but from up there he saw something: “Veylan! To your left is a very little tunnel, it’s your only way to not get hit!” Veylan still managed to find the tunnel, avoiding the rot; the only problem was: Riven couldn’t touch the ground, the tendril arm can effortlessly hold him above the ground but not forever, it’s still an new limb that hadn’t had any training before neither it could regenerate. He himself also couldn’t hold himself forever in his condition.

Meanwhile, Veylan crawled through the small tunnel, finding a little room. It looks like a treasure room but there is only one chest; without thinking about its Veylan stabbing the chest over and over again while spreading his aura, like he thought it was mimic chest. The mimic was instantly dead, throwing up a sword, something is carved in its handle: “Rotting sword: most effective weapon against any creatures that have a rotting effect.” He looked at it with shining eyes, knowing that this would be their triumph! But even though he has a solution for their problem, he still needs to get the whole tunnel back, he only knows that it took him long; maybe twenty minutes, but every minute could decide between life and death for Riven.

“I am hanging here now for maybe halve an hour, I don’t know what happened to Veylan, is he in a fight…did he escape? I can’t hope for his rescue; I need to get out myself. He activated his Merrik eyes, looking down to check the situation: “It’s gone!” His eyes tore up, looking around; nothing to see. He knew what the only other possibility was. The rot down at the ground already went dry, Riven jumped down, running away.

Exactly as he thought, the rot snake king was getting up again to the ceiling; it was already behind him. He just escaped into the tunnel, hoping to find Veylan.

Little later they found each other, they could finally end it; they wasted way too much time down there; but there was also the reward, pulling this off means that they beat maybe the strongest or at least one of the strongest creatures in the whole hells block! Most would think that this feat makes someone the examiner’s favorite. But neither Veylan nor Riven would care about that. For Veylan it would be immense proof of strength, exactly what he needs for his plans.

Coming back in the arena, Riven saw the king resting, still spreading its killing intent. Veylan sneaked up to it; he stabbed it over and over in its body. It screamed in agony; at least that’s what both expected. It stayed calm, getting annoyed. To the king Veylan′s attacks were equal to an annoying child!

Riven was confused: “Is he hallucinating? Is it maybe a normal sword; no wonder it has no use!” He went up to Veylan checking the swords handle; Veylan is right, he wasn’t hallucinating, neither was he lying.

While Riven was just freezing, Veylan got the answer: “A trap! Someone was taking a normal sword and craving the description in it! Its fake!” Suddenly, the king woke up; the sword didn’t make it feel threatened in any way!

  BAM!

It hit them again. Both got smashed against the wall, Riven lost consciousness and Veylan lost the sword; it hadn’t any use anyways!

Right before the king attacked again Veylan heard something “It sounds as someone slides down some type of slide or so?”

  SLASH!
