  “We’re almost there,” Tephe said as Adam noticed that a large crack in the dark void seemed to form at the end of the star river.

  The crack grew bigger and expanded as they closed in on it until the edges of the crack seemed to be made of the same energy as the star river, while stars could be seen within the opening that had been made. It was as if the energy had pried open the void in order to allow them to return to normal space.

  [SciFifanboy (Earth): Damn, that’s so Sci-Fi.]

  [Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): If I didn’t know we were watching a stream, I would swear it was a movie.]

  As they passed through the crack, the group of three returned to normal space, and Adam saw a jumpgate a short distance away.

  “We made it. I’m assuming that’s the Felidae Galaxy jumpgate and not some random other one?” He asked.

  “Of course, do you doubt me?” Tephe asked with a pout.

  “No, no, I just wanted to make sure,” Adam replied quickly.

  “Good,” Tephe replied before adding, "Besides, we were not in subspace nearly long enough to arrive at a different gate.”

  “If you say so,” Adam replied before asking, “Spector, do we have an ETA on Drot’s ship?”

  “Only just made it then,” Adam mumbled in relief.

  SHORT STORY: TEPHE BREAKS THE FOURTH WALL

  Several hours before the start of the UMB Cup, Tephe was sitting in her room in the suite on a holocall to Revi.

  “So Adam’s really competing and he plans to use the Black Knight?” Tephe asked as excitement sparkled in her eyes.

  “Yup, I can’t wait to see and hear everyone's reaction,” Tephe replied while bouncing up and down excitedly.

  “Speaking of Adam, how are things going between you two?” Revi asked curiously.

  Tephe sighed in disappointment before saying, “Not well.”

  “Did something happen?” Revi asked curiously.

  “Tephe nodded sadly before saying,” A reader on RR reported that my mentality is too childlike and I should not be allowed to pursue Adam.”

  “Really?”

  “Yes, now the author has had to remove all the sections that even hint at that.”

  “Oh dear,” Revi replied as she gave her goddaughter a sad look before asking, “What does that mean for future chapters?”

  “I don’t know, but it's likely that any chapter or section that I and, by extension, Maya are part of may appear as redacted.”

  Revi nodded in understanding before saying, “Considering it’s Christmas, the author must be super busy and not have time to think about rewriting yours and Adam’s entire relationship sub-plot, if he even decides to do that at all.”

  “I guess the readers will have to miss any chapters that Maya or I are part of, or at least go read them elsewhere,” Tephe said as tears rolled down her face before adding just before she ended the call, “I have ruined it for all the readers on RR who enjoy the novel.”

  Revi, who sat in her bedroom on Fenix Nest, sighed before asking, “How are you going to fix this, author? Or will you even fix this?”

  Adam was about to reply when Spector suddenly made an announcement, and his sensors lit up with red indicators.

  “Fuck, missiles incoming, protect Maya, Tephe.” Adam instructed before adding, “Deploy drones.”

  As the drones were deployed, Adam piloted Spector Unit 6 to circle around Tephe as the sensor indicator showed that a dozen missiles were heading right for her and the Levithen.

  As Spector Unit 6 circled Tephe and managed to get a line of sight on the missiles, he locked onto them all with a different weapon before opening fire, causing energy bolts to fly across space before the missiles detonated.

  [Gunlovergirl (Earth): The streamer just shot down missiles. Did someone try a sneak attack?]

  [Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Is Drot already here?]

  [HackerSu (Trillion): His AI said he should be arriving anytime now; perhaps he was already here.]

  “HAHAHAHA, YOU FELL FOR IT FUCKER,” A voice that sounded vaguely familiar to Adam gloated over an open comm channel before something tore through Spector Unit 6’s left arm, tearing it off.

  [[WARNING: Left arm destroyed.]]

  [Superhearofangirl (Earth): HOLY FUCK. ??]

  [Emojisonly (Earth): ??]

  [CEOHopkins (Earth): What happened?]

  [Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): He got hit by a Railgun.]

  [Gunlovergirl (Earth): Railgun ??]

  “HAHAHAHA, with that, you can’t use your beam canceler anymore, you fucker,” The voice glated again.

  [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Oh, shit, he’s right, the beam canceler was on the left arm, wasn’t it?]

  [HackerSu (Trillion): Who is this fucker? He knew exactly where to hit him to destroy the beam canceler.]

  [DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): It’s not overly surprising; it was shown on the Sportscast feed after all.]

  [Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): Did that bastard Drot hire more than just Excess Surplus to take out the streamer?]
