Onex got up from his bed. His body tired and his mind exhausted from the events of yesterday. He walked out of his room, grabbed some of the stored, dried, food he had for breakfast.
Once he finished eating, he went outside and glanced at his kingdom. He had the builders change the layout of his kingdom; this was so he could use island split more effectively.
As he watched his kingdom, Anna appeared next to him.
“You are the luckiest unlucky guy I’ve ever met,” she said as she sat down on a wooden stool.
Onex spoke in a self-deprecation tone, “That’s not true. I’m made of bad luck.”
“Yet you’ve survived this entire time in the void, sounds pretty lucky to me.”
“That doesn’t mean anything.”
Anna sighed pitifully, “Anyways, I need to go checkup some patients, see ya later.”
Onex was standing alone once again. Though he was used to that, he has been for a long time, most of his life in fact.
He suddenly realized that he never even explored his own city. He did go inside it, but he never looked around.
So, he walked away from his house and into the city of his kingdom. There were many stores and housing. Libraries and even schools. If it wasn’t for the steam machinery, he would have felt like this was just like at home.
Though, nothing caught his attention. Sure, there were nice things, but as a conquer, they served no use to him.
As he walked through his city. Checking out all the stalls, and shops, and buildings that had been built. He suddenly heard the voice of the void.
You are ranked number 64 biggest conquer.
You have been invited to a meeting, hosted by the grand priest that hosts meetings of everyone below a Monarch rank and above a rank of 65.
Do you accept this invitation?
Onex’s eyes widened as he listened to the voice. He stopped walking, unsure if he should accept or decline. If he accepted, he could make more allies, but there was also a risk of making enemies.
Unsure of what to do, Onex went back home and found the box on the table. He quickly wrote a letter to the King of Flying, since that was his best option.
It took a few moments of Onex waiting in silence. But a letter popped up from the box. Onex quickly read through it. It told him that the King of Flying will be attending, and that he recommends Onex comes as well.
Besides that, it gave no information. This lack of information made him hesitate. But Onex trusted his ally, he took a deep breath and told the void.
“I accept.”
As soon as those words left his mouth. Onex felt dizzy, he stumbled around, nearly knocking the box off the table. Then there was a bright light, forcing Onex to close his eyes.
When Onex opened his eyes. He stood in front of a large temple. It was smaller than the one in the ruins, but still quite large.
Onex looked around. Still feeling dizzy, there wasn’t very much land outside the temple, and no one was outside the temple either. So, he walked right to the temple doors and nervously opened them.

He was met with a large, open interior. Walls were made of gray stone bricks, and there were two floors, the first floor having many priests. There were also 64 people who were clearly conquers.
But on the second floor, were 12 people who sat silently, looking down at the people below.
Onex ignored them as he walked through the large group of conquers and priests. As he walked, he suddenly noticed the King of Flying and immediately walked over to him.
“Hey,” Onex greeted.
“So, you came after all? Good, you’ll be able to find some good allies here.”
Onex looked around, “I see,” he paused for a moment, glancing up at the people on the second floor, “Who are they?”
“They are the twelve Overlords; they are ranked right behind the Monarchs. I would steer away from the top 6 of the Overlords if I were you.”
“Why’s that?”
The King of Flying sighed, “Because they believe they are better than everyone else. Not even the Monarchs are like that, it’s annoying.”
“And what about the lower 6?”
“Their chill. But most of them have short tempers, except the old man. He is the only good Overlord.”
“Oh really?” Just has Onex was going to finish his statement, a voice boomed out and a priest in his 40s, wearing an oversized rope appeared at the center of the temple.
“I am the Grand Priest that has invited you all here. It is an honor to serve you tonight, I hope you can find new allies. In return, I ask you for your support and vow yourselves to my temple.
“If you do not, you will be brought back to your kingdom and lose the potential allies. If you wish to stay, please sign this contract my low priests is handing out.”
Soon, Onex was given the paper. The rulers he had to follow weren’t strict, he just had to come to the temple every meeting, not join another temple, give his support to the temple if it engages in battle.
Not seeing anything that he couldn’t handle, Onex signed the paper and handed it to the priest. Soon after, he heard the voice of the void.
You have signed a contract with Temple 2-002.
You are not abided to follow the rules of the temple.
The fact that the void was informing him this, meant that the Grand Priest must be another form of conqueror.
The temple shook. And it grew slightly, this only confirmed Onex’s theory. After a few moments, he looked over at the King of Flying.
“Who would you recommend as an ally?” He asked directly.
The King of Flying stayed silent while glancing around, “Um, there’s a few that I think would make good allies,” he pointed at a woman in the corner who had a cigarette in her mouth, “That is the Queen of Fire, Akari. She doesn’t have any allies just yet, but she is a very powerful source.
Onex nodded as the King of Flying pointed at guy with glasses sitting at a table, “That is the King of Reversed Truth,” he then pointed at another guy, “Over there is the King of Gaslighting.
"Even though they aren’t very trustworthy, they would make quite useful allies.”
The King of Flying continued, listing out more and more conquers that would make good allies. But did not mention any of the Overlords. Once the King stopped pointing out people, Onex got up to talk to a few of them.
Most of them did not have any interest in making alliances with Onex. Others just didn’t get along with Onex.
Onex sighed and approached Akari.
“Hey, do you want to be my ally?” Onex asked directly, tired of easing into the topic.
Akari took the cigarette from her mouth and blew out some smoke, “Why would I want that?”
“From what I heard, you don’t have an ally. And this whole meeting called by the Grand Priest was so we could make allies, if you weren’t interested, you would have left.”
Akari sighed, “I’ll think about it. What’s your conquers name? I’ll send you a letter once I made my decision.”
“The King of X.”
“King of…X? That’s quite an odd conquers name. I’ll think about becoming your ally.”
After she said that, Onex sighed and walked away. At least there was a chance of him getting an ally, even if it was a small chance.
As he walked through the crowd once again, the Grand Priest spoke again, informing everyone that today’s meeting would be coming to an end and thanked everyone for coming.
Right as the Priest finished speaking. Onex saw a figure, a feminine figure, concealed by a dark rope with her face completely covered in darkness. Even though her face was covered by the darkness. Onex could tell she was looking at him, but right before he could say anything. She vanished. Vanished in thin air, but no one around seemed to notice.
Onex was shocked, frozen still. But before he could do anything, he felt dizzy again, and his vision once again flashed white, forcing him to close his eyes.
Once he opened his eyes again. He was back where he was before going to the Temple. He hadn’t moved a single inch from where he was standing.
He sat down in his chair. Taking off his mask to think over those last few seconds.
Could it be? No, it couldn’t be, there’s just no way. But she suddenly vanished, oh, wait, I did as well. So that makes sense…I guess.
Onex thought as his mind whirled, even with that conclusion, it still felt confusing. He scratched the back of his head as he took a deep breath.
