La Valutazione di Elara

Ciel and Elara walked up to Venera, catching her attention. Elara's expression was a mix of caution and determination.

"Venera, I need your help," she confessed.

Venera quirked an eyebrow, her interest piqued. "You need my help?”

Elara nodded, her tone filled with an intense urgency. "Yes, I need help finding someone. I believe they have information I urgently need."

Venera leaned against the wall behind her, the smirk on her face growing. "And why should I help you?" she asked, her tone a mix of condescension and intrigue.

Elara gritted her teeth, her patience wearing thin. However, she tried to keep her composure as best as she could, knowing that Venera was a powerful and influential figure.

"Because I'll make it worth your while," Elara replied, her voice filled with steely resolve.

Venera raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Oh? And how do you plan on doing that?" she inquired, her smirk growing wider as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Elara's gaze hardened as she prepared to make her offer. "I'll owe you a favor," she declared, her voice a low, steady rumble. "Anything you want."

Venera's smirk widened into a sly grin as she savored the implications of that offer. "Anything?" she repeated, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

Elara nodded, her expression determined. "Anything. I'll do anything you ask, no questions asked."

Venera's smirk deepened, a spark of amusement dancing in her eyes. She chuckled softly, clearly enjoying the power she held in this negotiation. "Anything at all..." she confirmed, her voice laden with sinister undertones. "Are you sure you're ready to make that promise? Once made, I can hold you to it.”

Elara's resolve wavered for a brief moment, but then her expression hardened once more. She knew how influential Venera was, but she was desperate. She needed to find this person before it's too late.

"I'm sure," she replied, her voice steady despite the nervousness that threatened to break through. "I'm willing to do anything.”

Venera's smirk widened, satisfied with Elara's determination. "Very well then, I accept your offer. Now, tell me more about this person you're looking for. What are their distinguishing features? Any information you have on their current whereabouts? Name?”

Elara took a deep breath, her mind racing through all the information she had gathered about the target. She was prepared to share as much as necessary to convince Venera to help her.

"From what I gathered, the person I'm looking for is an adult female, about 6'4-6'7 in height, and is, from what I saw, not traveling alone. As for her location, she tends to move around often to throw me off her trail. I do not know her name but I have an appearance in mind.”

Venera listened intently, absorbing the information and processing it quickly. Her expression remained neutral, betraying nothing. "I see. So, a tall woman, always on the move, and traveling with an unknown number of people. And you have a description of what she looks like, correct?”

Elara nodded, her hands balling into tight fists as she fought to keep her anxiety in check. "Yes, that's right. I can give you a description of her appearance and tell you more details about her habits based on my observations."

Venera's expression remained unreadable, her eyes scanning over Elara in contemplation. "All right, then. Let's hear it.”

Elara took another deep breath, grounding herself before listing out the details. "From what I've observed, she's a very tall, muscular woman with long, raven-colored hair with red streaks that goes to the small of her back. She has fair-tanned skin and dark purple eyes. She wears comfortable clothes and sturdy boots that seem suitable for long travels, as well as a pair of special gauntlets. From what I gathered by analyzing her aura, she seems to be both calm and focused, yet fierce when the situation calls for it. In addition, she has a small scar on her right cheek.”

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Venera listened to the description intently, making mental notes of every detail. A flicker of recognition flashed across her face as she continued listening, but she quickly masked it with her poker face.

"An impressive description," she remarked, her tone neutral. "But there's one thing I'm curious about. You said you analyzed her aura, yes?”

Elara nodded, confirming Venera's question. "Yes, I did. By assessing her aura, I was able to get a better understanding of her nature, personality, and habits. It told me a lot about her way of thinking, her character, and her fighting style.”

Venera regarded Elara with newfound interest, her eyes narrowing in curiosity. "Interesting. So, you're not just hunting her down based on basic observations, but you've also delved deeper into her essence by analyzing her aura. That's quite resourceful of you.”

Elara gave a slight nod, a hint of satisfaction at Venera's approval. "I do what it takes to get the job done. Analyzing auras provides me with crucial information that can give me an edge over my targets. It helps me anticipate their moves, understand how they think, and even predict their behavior.”

Venera studied Elara for a moment, clearly impressed by her method. "I see. It seems you approach your work with both care and intelligence. Using aura analysis to understand your target's personality and fighting style is quite an interesting approach. It's almost as if you have a window into their soul. So, about that promise we made earlier... Do you know what it is that I want you to do for me?”

Elara's expression became more guarded, her mind racing through possibilities. She had offered to do anything, and now she was starting to wonder what Venera might ask of her.

"I'm aware," she replied, her voice steady. "You want me to do anything you ask of me, no questions asked. I made that promise, and I'm ready to honor it. Tell me what it is.”

Venera chuckled, a hint of dark amusement in her eyes. "Very good. I do like a person who is so obedient. Now, as for what I want you to do..."

She paused, taking a moment to let the anticipation build in the air. Elara waited, her heart racing with a mix of anxiety and determination.

Finally, Venera broke the silence. "What I want you to do is simple," she began, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "I want you to capture this woman you're looking for, alive, and bring her to me. Once you deliver her to me, I will consider my debt to you paid in full."

Elara clenched her fists, her jaw clenching as she processed Venera's request. "Alive? You want me to capture her alive?”

Venera nodded, her smirk not faltering. "Yes, alive. I want her alive, alive and breathing. No exceptions. Can you do that for me?"

Elara's breath hitched in her throat as the gravity of the task began to sink in. Capturing someone alive was much riskier, especially someone elusive like this target. But she had made a promise to Venera, and backing down was not an option.

"Yes," she replied, her voice steady despite the knot of worry forming in her stomach. "I can do it. I'll capture her alive and bring her to you."

Venera's smirk morphed into a satisfied smile, clearly pleased by the compliance. "Excellent. I knew I could count on you."

Elara's heart thumped in her chest, a mix of determination and doubt clouding her thoughts. Capturing the target alive would be a challenge, and she had no idea what awaited her once she was in Venera's hands.

Venera took a step closer, her gaze boring into Elara. "But, let me make this clear: no harm must come to her. I need her in peak condition, understood? No killing, no serious injuries. If she's too beaten up, it'll defeat the purpose of the whole thing."

Elara nodded, her mind racing with strategies. "I understand. I'll make sure she's brought to you uninjured and alive, just as you asked. I won't mess this up.”

Venera's smile widened, her gaze still locked on Elara. "Good girl. I have no doubt that you'll fulfill this task successfully. But if you fail..."

Her expression suddenly turned dark, a hint of warning in her voice. "Well, let's just say that you wouldn't want to experience the consequences of a broken promise to me.”

Venera studied her for a long moment, as if searching for any signs of hesitation or doubt. But all she saw was determination and resolve in Elara's eyes. Satisfied, she finally nodded, her smirk returning.

"Very well. I'll be expecting your delivery soon. Remember - alive and unharmed, or you'll regret it."

With that, Elara was prepared to take her leave, but throughout the exchange, she couldn't help but to sneak glances at Alice and Zalgo. She caved in to her curiosity and assessed their auras, and within them, detecting an aura she wasn't expecting.

"...Kairy," she whispered, taking a step closer to the girls. Now, she needs even more answers…
