Chapter 5 of Volume 1: School Leave
What? Going to school!
Lin Jinghan was stunned, the phrase "going to school" hadn't appeared in her mind for over a decade. Suddenly hearing this news, Lin Jinghan was a bit flustered, but fortunately, having lived for over 20 years in her previous life, she had a stronger temperament than a real child would. After being dazed for a while, she finally came to her senses.
She is now thirteen years old and in her first year of junior high school. She had just been reborn and was preoccupied with her grandmother's illness, but she forgot something so important.
At the moment, Lin Jinghan couldn't care about that strange element either. She hastily prepared breakfast, casually drank two mouthfuls of porridge, found the long-forgotten school bag in her room, and didn't even have time to give instructions before rushing out like a bird set free.
Lin Tianyi's face was paralyzed as he watched Lin Jinghan rush out in a flurry, shaking his head maturely and sighing: "Alas, I thought she had become more mature, but it turns out she's still so reckless, alas..."
If Lin Jinghan knew about this scene, she would definitely go crazy and pinch Lin Tianyi's ear, shouting: "What is that expression? The sigh of an elder to a younger one? Go die!"
Lin Jinghan didn't see it, and now Lin Jinghan is concerned about something else, reading books is the big thing she cares about.
Relying on her impression, Lin Jinghan quickly rushed to school, running and trying hard to recall her classmates and teachers when she was in school, but none of them left any impression on her, except that she remembered she was in Class 2 of the first year.
The school Lin Jiaheng is in is the only one in the town, with primary and secondary schools combined. After graduating from primary school, students can directly advance to secondary school. Generally speaking, the teaching quality is still good, and every year's graduates can still take relatively good high schools, of course, that's just a small part. Most students after graduating from secondary school are either mixed in an ordinary high school for a graduation certificate or go out to work.
The school's campus is not very large, as most of the students are from the local town, so there are no dormitories. The students all go home to live. There are only three teaching buildings in total: one for primary school and two for middle school. Between the primary and middle schools, there is a playground separating them.
The number of students in the school is less than one thousand. In elementary school, each class has about thirty students, and in junior high school, there are more, with basically fifty students per class.
Lin Jinghan's class, Class 1-2, was the most notorious in the entire school, giving many teachers headaches. However, this class also had several top students who consistently ranked high in their grade and had overall good grades, often coming in second place, leaving teachers at a loss for what to do with those mischievous students.
Of course, our beloved Lin Jinghan is definitely not a top student!
So, when Lin Jinghan rushed to school all the way, what was waiting for her was - a pale-faced head teacher, and our poor classmate Lin Jinghan had actually forgotten what this terrible head teacher's name was, how pathetic!
"Old, teacher good!" Looking at the iron-faced old witch, Lin Jinghuan searched in her mind for half a day and couldn't think of what she was called, so she could only force a greeting with a bitter face.
It's not Lin Jiahuan's fault, actually. When she was reading, her classmates would often mock her for her background, calling her an unwanted child and also insulting the other children in the orphanage with very unpleasant words. As the saying goes, if you don't die from being silent, you'll explode from being silent. So, Lin Jiahuan didn't want to die silently and chose to explode instead.
Whoever dares to scold her, she will fight back, even if she can't win, she will still fight back. The ferocity of that blow makes people tremble. After fighting many times, Lin Jinghan's skills have also been honed. In the future, except for the fact that the number of people is too large, she generally won't lose a fight.
Lin Jinghan is notorious for fighting, good kids don't want to be friends with such a kid, and bad kids have generally been beaten by Lin Jinghan. So, in school, Lin Jinghan actually has no friends at all.
Her arrogant temper, combined with her deep-seated inferiority complex, meant that Lin Jinghan simply didn't have the heart to learn, so in her teacher's eyes, she was really a problem child.
"Lin Jinghan, look at you now, what time is it? You've just arrived! Are you really not interested in learning?! The mid-term exams are coming up soon, and with your attitude, how many points do you plan to drag our class down before you're satisfied?! Ah!" The furious teacher glared at the problem child standing before her, head hung low, looking at the ground. Originally, she had felt sympathy for Lin Jinghan's status as an orphan, but after repeated instances of misbehavior and fighting, the teacher was left with only disgust. As a result, her words were not gentle.
"Sorry, teacher!" Lin Jinghan recalled her entire middle school experience and found that apart from fighting, the second most vivid memory was being punished by teachers, of course not physically, but cleaning up.
After rebirth, Lin Jinghan would not be like the original Lin Jinghan, so this time she directly acknowledged her mistake instead of shouting back at the teacher as she used to.
As expected, the teacher was also taken aback by Lin Jiehan's attitude. Looking at Lin Jiehan's sincere apology, the head teacher didn't know how to respond for a moment. After all, logically speaking, Lin Jiehan should be scolding her now, and then she would punish her. But now that she had apologized so sincerely, she really didn't know how to deal with Lin Jiehan.
After a while, the head teacher finally sighed helplessly, forget it, forget it, it's not easy for this kid to admit his mistake so readily, she didn't pursue it anymore. With a kind wave of her hand, "Alright, since you know your mistake, that's good enough. Don't be late again next time, got it? Hurry up and go to class!"
"Teacher, can I ask for a leave of absence?" But just as the head teacher was about to turn around and leave, he heard Lin Jiaheng say this.
"Lin Jinghan, what do you want to do? Haven't we told you already? The mid-term exam is approaching, and you're not preparing well, but you still want to ask for leave? You......" The class teacher's temper, which had just subsided, was stirred up again by Lin Jinghan's words.
"Teacher, listen to me!" Lin Jinghan interrupted the head teacher's words, her tone serious and expression stern, which made the head teacher stop.
"Teacher, my grandmother is ill and I need to take care of her at home," Lin Jiahui said, seeing the class teacher wanting to speak up. She quickly continued, "Don't worry, Teacher, I won't give up on my studies. I can study by myself at home, and I promise that during the mid-term exams, I will definitely get first place in the whole class. How's that?"
"Lin Jinghan, this is a joke, first, how can you guarantee it?" Although the head teacher found Lin Jinghan's words to be no different from those of a crazy person talking nonsense, and Lin Jinghan's grades were among the worst in the class, wanting to become the top student was impossible. However, looking at Lin Jinghan's serious expression and the confident light in her eyes made the head teacher involuntarily start to believe her a little.
"Teacher, believe me just this once!" Lin Jinghan saw that the head teacher was a bit shaken and hurriedly added fuel to the fire, bowing and scraping.
The head teacher stared blankly at the girl in front of her, finally realizing that today's Lin Jinghan was different from usual. Maybe, just maybe, she could try to believe her this once.
"Alright then!" The head teacher finally gave in and agreed to Lin Jiahuan's seemingly unreasonable request.
"Teacher, thank you! During the mid-term exam, I will definitely give you a satisfactory answer." Lin Jinghan smiled happily and waved goodbye to the class teacher before running back excitedly.
The head teacher looked at Lin Jiahui, who was so excited, and the corners of his mouth slowly hooked up. He thought to himself that this child's nature is still not bad. If she really studies well, her future achievements will be great.
The head teacher looked at Lin Jinghuan who suddenly returned with a bit of surprise and asked if there was anything else.
Lin Jinghuan slowly made her way to the front, looking a bit embarrassed as she smiled and asked respectfully, "Teacher, sorry about this, but when is the mid-term exam?"
