Chapter 9 Finding Buyers

Chapter 9 of Volume 1: Finding a Buyer

After getting off the bus, Lin Jinghuan greeted the enthusiastic uncle and walked towards Dongdajie with her small backpack on her back.

As the old man said, after turning around the corner, Lin Jinghuan didn't walk for long before she saw a row of jade shops on the street. The streets were still quite empty at this time, and those shops seemed to have just opened their doors not long ago. Lin Jinghuan, that lovely and beautiful little girl, became particularly eye-catching as soon as she appeared on the street.

Lin Jinghuan didn't notice the gaze of others at all, she looked around house by house, searching for the sign that read "Gambling Stone". However, after turning around in a circle, Lin Jinghuan still couldn't find it.

"This, doesn't it exist?" Lin Jinghan wasn't very clear about the stone gambling thing either, she only knew there was such an activity, but as for the specifics, she had no idea, and originally, she wouldn't have known anyway.

"Little sister, what are you looking for?" Just as Lin Jinghan was puzzled, a thick and honest voice sounded behind her.

Lin Jinghan turned around, looking at the man in front of her with a honest face and dressed like an old shop owner. She focused her attention, and gradually, a chill element emanated from the man's body, cold enough to make Lin Jinghan shiver.

The man in front of her must be a bad guy! Lin Jinghan had made up her mind, but the expression on her face didn't change much. Now they were on the main street, with people everywhere, and Lin Jinghan didn't believe this man dared to do anything to her.

Then Lin Jinghan raised a smile and replied cleverly: "No, thank you uncle. Ah, my uncle is over there, I'll go first."

Without waiting for the man's reaction, Lin Jinghuan walked towards a black-clad man who had just entered a jade stone shop not far away.

That man with a silly face looked at Lin Jinghuan's back, then glanced at the black-clothed man whose back was also cold and unfeeling. In the end, he could only mutter to himself, "Thought it was just a lonely little girl, didn't expect..."

Until she walked into the store, Lin Jinghan only felt that the piercing gaze on her back disappeared, and finally let out a long sigh of relief. Fortunately, she reacted quickly, otherwise... As soon as she thought of the sinister and lewd glint in that man's eyes, Lin Jinghan felt a wave of gratitude, grateful for having supernatural powers, grateful for discovering this function of her powers. Otherwise, with that man's foolish appearance today, she would have been deceived.

"Little friend, are you alone? Where are your grown-ups?" A kind and gentle voice awakened Lin Jinghuan from her solitary celebration.

Lin Jinghan glanced at the old man with a goat beard in front of her, slightly vigilant, and sensed that his element was warm and pure, and he should be a good person.

After finishing the appraisal, Lin Jinghuan let out a sigh of relief.

"Old man, are you the boss of this store?" Lin Jinghuan put away the vigilance in her eyes and turned back into a lovely and innocent little girl, directly ignoring what the old man had just asked.

"Is that so, young one? What brings you here?" The old man stroked his beard with one hand and had the other behind his back, not missing the fleeting wariness in Lin Jiehan's eyes earlier. It seemed this girl wasn't a simple person.

"Old man, does your store have gambling stones?"

"What's with the gambling? What are you asking this for?" The old man looked at the little guy in front of him in surprise.

Lin Jinghan lowered her head, with a glint in her eyes. It seemed that there should be a gambler here, but how could she get him to help her decipher the stone and sell the jade?

Lin Jinghan's eyes rolled around, and she thought of an idea. She quietly put her hands behind her back, pinched her thigh hard, and let out a hiss - it hurt so much!

Gritting her teeth, she lifted her head and looked at the old man in front of her with tears welling up in her eyes. Her voice trembled as she spoke, "Grandfather, my grandmother is ill, we don't have money for treatment, and my parents are gone too. I'm all alone now... waaahhh, I don't want Grandmother to leave me! I secretly took the treasure you left behind, I wanted to sell it to pay for her treatment!" As she spoke, Lin Jinghan thought of Director Nai's illness, and her difficult life after Director Nai passed away in her previous life. She also thought of the poor children in the orphanage, and Lin Jinghan really burst into tears, releasing all the grievances she had been holding inside from her past life.

Lin Jinghan cried so hard that she was out of breath, venting her grievances, but it scared the old man, who completely believed Lin Jinghan's words. After all, this child cried so sadly, and it wasn't fake!

He hastily pulled out a handkerchief, and while wiping away Lin Jiahui's tears, he coaxed: "Hey, little sister don't cry, don't cry. What treasure are you talking about? Let Grandpa take a look, Grandpa will buy it for you!" The old man took pity on the child, and without even looking, he promised to buy whatever it was under unknown circumstances.

"Hey, grandpa, you...you're buying?" Lin Jinghuan, who had just finished venting her emotions, immediately stopped crying upon hearing this. If not for the tear stains still on her face, the old man would have thought she was faking it. She really is like a faucet, turning off and on at will.

"Yes, I'll buy it." The words had already been spoken and the water had been spilled. Even if it was a worthless trinket, the old man decided to grit his teeth and make the purchase anyway.

"Really, thank you, Grandpa!" After confirming that the old man was not cheating her, Lin Jinhuan was so excited that she jumped up and down. She had already confirmed that there must be jade in that stone, but she wasn't quite sure what kind of water it was. However, she believed that no matter what, it should be worth tens of thousands of dollars, so as long as someone bought it, she would have money to treat her grandmother's illness.

Lin Jinghuan carefully took out the pouch containing the raw stone from her backpack and gently placed it on the counter, treating it like a treasure.

The old man looked at Lin Jiahuan's treasured attitude, and his heart also started to feel a little apprehensive. This should be the treasure! Hope it's not junk.

Lin Jinghan hinted to the old man to take a look himself, and the old man carefully opened his pocket to see the original stone lying inside, finally understanding why the little girl wanted to ask about the gambling stone.

He carefully picked up the stone, and the old man took a small flashlight from his side to observe it carefully. This is an original stone, but it doesn't seem to be from the old pit, there's no pattern on it, and it doesn't look like jade at all. The old man made a rough judgment, looked up at Lin Jinhuan who was staring at him intently with sparkling eyes, and sighed, "Ah, we lost out this time!"

"Grandpa, this is a treasure, it's real, I'm not cheating you, you have to believe me!" Lin Jinghan looked at the old man's eyes filled with regret, afraid that he would change his mind, and hurriedly guaranteed, but no one believed her words.

"Alright, little girl, don't worry. I promised to buy it for you and I will, no matter what... Don't worry, I'll give you the money now, and later on, no matter what happens, I'll keep my word." The old man guaranteed, though his heart was bleeding a bit, but one can't go back on their words, and this child really is pitiful.

"Thank you, Grandpa, I promise you won't regret it," Lin Jinghan said reassuringly.

As expected, after that, the old man was so happy that his teeth almost fell out, and he couldn't help but sigh in his heart, good people are indeed rewarded!

  Digression

Woo woo, why isn't anyone making a move? It's so quiet! Guess who that man in black is?
