As we all knew, our guy chose Lightworm, (F-) and gained a bunch of related skills which I won't list since it's more than zero. But what if he chose Cave Dweller? Or LEL? Or the pupa? Well, stay here for a second and you'll see!
In this evolution, he would lose all the same skills as he did for the Lightworm, except for the skill (Rallying Cry), which he would keep.
Acid Spit being, as it sounds, an attack which spits out an acid. Renght and power increases with level.
Spawn Lesser Grub would have allowed him to spawn a small version of himself, which can use all the same skills as him but at a lesser level.
Leech would allow him to leech off of dying enemies and feed upon their liquids.
Yup, if our man gave up his sight, so would he have given up the light, thus being given the powers of d a rk n e s s (spooky music)
The spells he would be given by this would be "Black-Out", which blinds an opponent (oooo look at that parallel magics in the dark and light magics oooooo) and "Needles", a curse-type spell that inflicts pain upon an enemy but no actual damage. Increase in level allows for greater and more centralized pain. Keep in mind, people can die from pain, so a high-level Needles spell can indeed be deadly.
This system is absolute bullshit who designed this thing a gOOsE-,,??
Appearance-wise, the Cave Dweller is like a large, white maggot or grub, thick and white with small, black little limbs. It is slow, and lacking eyes, its most distinctive feature, head-wise, are the sizable mandibles surrounding a sharp-toothed mouth opening.
:,(( Cave Dweller would indeed only have gotten two evolutions paths, one cuz cave dweller and one cuz Shadow Magic. He might have more if I actually wrote this, since then he'd have experiences to base it all on. Anyhoo, where these two go, we do not know. Probably something cool.
Well, not much to say, really. Why not, you probably don't ask? Well, because our guy simply wouldn't be awake to experience this one. Choosing this path would have made him lose all skills, every single one, and then gain them back once he evolved at the end of his (INCUBATION).
Really, pupa is more of a passing-over period from Larva to Suckling.
So, we'll simply pretend Moss Pupa is Cave Flower Suckling, for the sake of FUN.
Also, btw, Cave Flower Suckling is Rank E.
And... that's it. If he chose this route, these are all the skills he would have had. No magic, no nothing like that. Flower sensing lets him sense where the flowers are, paralyzing scale power allows him to release a sort of powder from his wings which can paralyze creatures to an extremely weak extent, and paralyzing shot is slightly stronger but only effective towards single targets and requires physical contant.
Not a good evolution. Just straight up not good. For a normal Moss Larva, this would have been the only evolution possible. Had our guy only ever eaten moss (which the system didn't allow for), this would have been his only option.
But, for the sake of it, here is his evolution. Yes, singular.
Indeed, sadly, there is only one. Knowing our man, I'm sure he could have evolved into it somehow, but... Honestly? Even so, this just isn't anything cool. We all agree that this is the bad evolution, right? Right.
Ah, an odd one. Unlike the other ones, in this case, he'll be able to keep all his pheromone ones, but it is transformed into the insidious pied-piper purpose of luring prey.
Once again, no magic. But, with skills like these, he'd do fine without it.
Bane of Larvae is, unlike the sound of it, a bite attack. Well, for the most part. In fact, it transforms the body of the host into a bunch of deadly poison. If our man had gotten this skill, every single part of his person would have been poisonous. His saliva, his blood, his sweat, his tears... all of it. This is usually most effective as a bite-attack, but it works just as well to get eaten by a larger larva.
Parasite grants not only the ability to resist stomach acid (for a time), but also a bunch of smaller, lesser skills that allow the parasite to burrow into the host creature to consume them from the inside. Usually from the inside of the stomach lining. Furthermore, the skill allows this to be done without the knowledge of the host.
Leech is the same as for Cave Dweller and ties into Parasite.
Glutton allows the host to eat as much as needed, the excess food being converted into health or mana. If both of these are full, the food is stored at fat, which can be burnt on command to heal health and mana. A very cool skill, really.
Size-shift is really cool. It allows the user to change size at will. In order to become really small or really big you'd need a really high level, but in the case of the LEL, it is used to either become small enough to be eaten by a larger larva so that it can use Parasite on it or to become large enough to easily eat a whole bunch of smaller larvae.
Cool, huh? One for cannibalism, one for the LEL itself, and one for pheromone manipulation. Quite clever, if I say so.
Aaaand that's all of them!
The next chapter should be out today or tomorrow, but either way, I'll get to writing the second part of this one once I can't stop myself any longer.
Hope you enjoyed, Spicy Cake! I know you were more interested in the next bunch (so am I, trust me), but I hope you enjoyed these ones anyways!
