It was time for the grand massacre… I mean battle royal. Including us, 22 teams were waiting, sizing up the competition, and listening to the new rules. I say new rules, but it's just knock out whoever you can try and avoid killing and some other crap. I already noticed some groups teaming up.
“Do you think we should team up too?”
Let them come to us if they want to team up, I don’t want scrubs on our ship!
You and your boat.
We got some time to prepare and talk over strategies, and only the golem team approached us.
Oh, you guys are still in the running?
“Ugh, a skilled adventurer indeed, striking where it hurts, is there any possibility we could team up with your group? We decided to throw our pride away and go for a victory.”
Very wise.
Sure, on the condition that you guys respect our new and improved ship!
“Wait, you guys are going to do that stuff again?”
Yup, we even got some rail guns, cool, eh? Interested?
One guy seemed to be very excited to mess with a railgun.
“Sure, my name is Philippe, this is Carlo and that is Franky.” Phil said while he stroked his beard. He seemed to be the oldest.
”Nice to meet you!”
“Heya!” Said the youngest one.
I’m the Obsidian Prince.
“I am Giana, nice to meet you.”
I’m Silver Torrent.
“Hehe we’re lucky to form a team with you guys!” The youngest guy said excitedly.
Our preparation time was almost over and I cracked my neck.
Are you ready Giana?
“Always!”
Don’t forget the extra dry suite!
Giana flipped through the blueprints and I took a look as well. “Extra dry suite? What is that? I didn’t see anything like that on the drawing.”
Dunno, probably something he just thought of.
What! It’s right there! Wait, I was sure to draw it!
Greg grabbed the blueprint and pointed at something that didn’t look like a suite. The signal to start went out, and it was too late for us to change anything now.
Hey, wait! Where did it go? Why is there a big ice cannon where my extra dry room was supposed to be?!
Greg looked at me.
Hey! It wasn't me!
“Oh, so that useless room was your extra dry room? I’m sorry, I wanted to try something.”
Wait, Giana? You did this?
He looked at Giana, then at me and put his head in his hands.
Oh my god, they’re all the same!
Rude! Let’s make this boat Giana!
Ice [Boat Magic] activated and we boarded the coolest boat ever seen. It was fitted with 8 steam cannons, 4 on each side, and there was an enormous cannon sticking out from the middle of the boat that went down almost to the bottom of the boat. The ship also had 4 rail guns.
Alright, lads! And ehh lady! Let's sink all these noobs! I would like to be the captain, but I will be too busy having fun ehh shooting our opponents down!
Uhm, can I pass on the role of captain?
Our boat started to take attacks from everyone else. A huge wave splashed over the boat and drenched everyone. Greg freaked out and disappeared below deck.
I guess you’re the captain, Giana, work these men to the bone!
I disappeared below deck to mess with some steam cannons and railguns. I heard Giana give out orders and afterward, she started singing and the big cannon moved.

Another guy, was his name Card? He came down to man some weapons too. Greg was being a wimp in a room, but he was assisting by sending [Shadow Tendrils] out of the boat and assisting with defense. Unfortunately, my steam cannons didn't do much. Everyone here was adept at water magic, so the ice cannonballs didn't do much, but I was having too much fun shooting at people to notice, Cardo or whatshisface seemed to have noticed and was using the railguns.
He had already depleted the lightning in one of them. The boat shook as it took a blow and started to rock wildly.
“Hey Silver Torrent, these rail guns ran out of juice!” Cardo said after some rough 5 minutes where it felt like our ship was getting pushed around a lot.
Uh, use these, I’ll head over to the deck and see what’s going on.
I reached the deck and dodged an ice lance.
Hey, Giana, what’s going on? You stopped singing.
“Their teamwork seems to be better than expected and ehhh, we’re sinking.” Giana said as she beckoned me and pointed at a hole in the hull.
Oh, how unfortunate, let's not tell Greg.
Greg stormed on deck in panic that same moment.
Guys, we need to do something! We’re sinking! We’re gonna die! Do something, please do something!
He blocked a water attack with a [Shadow wall] but the water still splashed on him.
Just kill me already! And why didn’t you use frost magic to create this boat?!
So dramatic, how is that cannon of yours doing Giana?
“I expected it to do more damage, but I’m 100% convinced now that I can't use my magic offensively.”
Just make it stop!
I froze water that was aimed at Greg and dried him off.
The boat shook and rocked again. One of the other guys ran up to the deck. “Captain Giana, we took another heavy blow and have another hole in our hull! Our vessel is taking in water!”
“And your attempts at mending them are being hindered, I assume?” Giana asked as she [Transformed] into a sexy prate captain attire.
“Yes, Captain!”
“Hmm, shall we take this a bit more seriously, Agnis?”
You’re the captain.
“All right! Philippe, Carlo and Franky! You will be in charge of creating a golem-like armor after Agnis and I turn this boat into a big jellyfish!.”
“A what?”
The jellyfish we kicked your asses with, she wants you to give it some armor, I don't know why, maybe to give you guys something to do.
“So blunt… Sure, let's get ready guys!” The guys followed the captain’s orders and started creating their golem.
Giana started dancing and singing, and the boat slowly turned into an enormous jellyfish. I used [High Voltage] and turned the nettles and tentacles into deadly purple electrified weapons.
I threw in some [Lightning cages], [Lightning Umbrellas] and some [Surface flips] into the mix. The jellyfish seemed to be too large to make armor around, so the guys just made free-roaming ice golems.
“Whoa, this thing is unstoppable!” One said.
“And we stopped sinking!”
“Hey, Silver Torrent, out of curiosity, if we ever encounter someone using this against us how do you suggest we deal with it?” Cardo asked seemingly interested in countering this in the future.
Well, if she’s casting it. I gestured to Giana. You run, against anyone else, just remove the access to water or knock out the user.
“Why is that?”
Well for one I think it's impossible to knock Giana out and I’m not sure if it's the property of this jellyfish or because Giana is using it but as you can see… it's quite resilient…
I made my mana spike and changed the lightning to red. The jellyfish was taking hits from everyone and seemed like it didn't care. It just has no offensive capabilities and was quite slow, and that's why I was assisting with lightning.
“Any chance we can see the silver lightning?”
No chance, I’m not here to kill people.
“You say that but…” Franky pointed and pointed out that half of our opponents were fried and unconscious and were in the process of being fished out of the water.
Hmm, I see your point .
I dropped the lightning to dark blue and stopped the [Lightning Umbrella] from shooting purple lightning bolts everywhere.
“But man, she can sing. What language is that even?” Franky asked as he stared a bit too long at Giana.
Giana was singing in Hourai, so It wasn't not surprising that nobody could understand what she was singing. She was looping a song that was more akin to a fairy tale, a sad fairy tale. It’s about a jellyfish cursing its immortality. It outlived its friends who weren't immortal like itself. No matter what it did after death, it kept being reborn. In the end, it decided to get devoured because that was one of the few ways it wouldn't go through rebirth.
It had 4 different versions, and Giana just started with the last version. I wondered if this song had a deeper meaning to her. She was an excellent performer, but this song and dance seemed to have a bit more emotion to it and everyone could feel the emotion in it. The song ended and Giana stopped to rest. The jellyfish shrunk a bit and started to disappear slowly.
“Uhh, isn’t this bad?” Cardo asked.
Why? Giana needs her rest.
“Yeah, but I mean, the jellyfish that is our defense is falling off.”
Greg was freaking out, and I put him in a frost bubble.
I will take over, don’t worry.
