“Agnis, please stop resisting.” Giana said as she [Transformed] into her revised ‘Seductive Giana’

  Agnis transformed back to male and got all his tails out. The hat turned back into Nilah and [Boss music: Ainahs] started to play.

  “Wait. I didn’t pay attention to this! He has been fighting us with 1 tail the whole time! Giana blast him!”

  I’m sorry but my Phase 4 is overpowered.

  A mana wave went out as Agnis Hourai went into 9t mode. Time glitched and spatial distortions could be seen everywhere.

  A large pink wave flew out and it got sent into a portal. Noelle stomped but she couldn’t stabilize anything. “Ugh. Giana we’re going to lose if you can’t do anything about this.”

  Nilah it’s time for [Heat Exchange].

  The [Boss music] intensified and hot and cold foxfires flared from Nilah and Agnis.

  “Yv, be careful! Io do you think you can take that?”

  “Haha of course not! We’re fucked!”

  Giana used [Siren Song] which was a charm magic based song. Agnis plugged his ears with his tails and rushed at Yvonne.

  Yvonne tried to hop around but she always found herself to end up at the same spot and got hit by a foxfire infused charge. Agnis closed his eyes and looked away as he had yet again depleted Yvonne’s lives by 1.

  Giana’s attempts at healing got interrupted. Noelle formed various weapons and flung them at Agnis but nothing connected.

  Io seemed to be the next target.

  “Guys? Help! I have no idea what’s going on.” She clad herself in fire but the fire died out. “Huh?”

  She tried to ignite again to give herself a boost in fire resistance but the fire kept getting its time rewound.

  And that is two!

  A large blue fox imbued with hot and cold foxfire crashed into Io and sent her flying. Any of her defensive skills got consumed by foxfires. She got some burns but was fine otherwise. Her consciousness waned and she eventually lost consciousness after a hot and cold foxfire blasted her.

  Noelle’s stomp didn’t connect as she stomped into a small portal.

  No stomping for you!

  A pink wave hit Agnis and time rewound erasing the fact that that event had ever happened.

  “One more time!” Giana kept flinging pink waves and [Seduces] at Agnis.

  A large rock flew at Agnis. A grid appeared causing it to split in 7, the 7 pieces changed form and all turned into Giana.

  Oh, hell no! Nilah let’s get out of here!

  Pink charm magic flew everywhere and chased Agnis and Nilah around. Every evade sent out hot and cold foxfire waves which put pressure on the remaining idols. Agnis and Nilah hopped into a portal and crashed into Noelle’s back

  “Ow that hurts!”

  I guess we need more foxfire, Nilah.

  A stomp locked Nilah and Agnis in place. Giana seized the chance to send more pink waves at their adversary.

  I hope this works.

  Agnis appeared where Noelle stood moments ago and Noelle took the waves of pink. “Giana have I ever told you how much I love you!”

  “Noelle! Can you subdue Agnis for me?”

  “Of course!”

  Hmm not sure what I was expecting. Hey wait why does charmed Noelle seem stronger than her normal state?

  “It seems you don’t know everything about charm magic. Noelle use your 7t mode to create 4 copies of Agnis.”

  Polygons appeared and formed into the shape of Agnis. The polygons disappeared and formed accurate copies. Agnis still couldnt hear what his opponents were saying but wondered why 4 copies of himself appeared. Giana sent out pink charm waves and blasted them with charm magic.

  “Would you be so kind to return the form to its owner?”

  The copies which were pink of charm magic turned into polygons and a grid appeared on the real Agnis.

  This is not what I think it is right?

  Giana smiled and Agnis got inflicted with all the charm the copies had gotten hit with.

  Agnis left eye gained 4 more pupils and his left eye gained 3 more pupils as he used [Elgard overload] to get rid of it. The [Boss Music] changed to a different and more fast pace piece. Countless illusion layers got formed causing the area to appear as if they were trapped in a mirror house as illusion layer after illusion layer formed around them reflecting parts of reality or rejecting reality.

  Whoa, that was dangerous.

  The scene turned to normal and Agnis disapeared. there was no sound of illusions cracking but Giana noticed that several illusion layers had been used. He appeared behind Giana with a charge infused with cold and hot foxfire.

  It was the first attack that dealt substantial damage to Giana. “So this is how your foxfire feels. How about you give it to me in a more special way.”

  Another [Seduce] that the last boss had to kick out of reality. Damaging Giana was useless as she healed it back up.

  Giana endured many hits even in the first window of near infinite power. Agnis had activated countless [Dragons] that were chipping at Giana’s defenses.

  Hey come on I feel a bit bad doing this if you don’t fight back.

  “Don’t worry I’m fighting back. This is the one fight I can’t lose.”

  You’re not talking about this specific fight, are you?

  “Come on, don’t you want to show me what you’ve got?” It was a [Seduce] disguised as a taunt and Agnis fell for it.

  Ugh overpowered vixens.

  The [Seduce] got kicked out of reality and Agnis started to realize that Giana might be wanting to endure the [Elgard overload], the 9t mode would drop the moment that happened.

  The attacks started to become fiercer as the [Dragons] were ramping up in power. Noelle had been boxed in by frost [Dragons] and could hardly do anything. Giana started to bleed but she kept healing up while being unmoving.

  Overpowered perseverance. I will be so screwed if I can’t defeat the healer of this overpowered group. Nilah, let’s launch her!

  [Heat Exchange] got canceled and Agnis used [Howling Updraft], launching Giana, followed up by [Blender]. His window of near-infinite power almost ended and he had the [Dragons] piling on. Giana buffed her defenses with a song and attempted to block the attacks with various barriers.

  Holy shit how tanky are you? Nothing works against you, does it?

  The window dropped and Agnis started to kick unfavorable conditions out of reality.

  Nothing he did worked as Giana either blocked his attacks or endured them and healed them back up. his second window of near limitless illusion layers came up and he pushed for a decisive conclusion. Another manawave went out as the blood moon appeared indoors and every attack gained a boost. Agnis realized his mistake as Giana also gained a massive boost.

  “Wha.. what is this?” Giana said confused as she felt power welling up.

  Ohh that was stupid. Agnis said as he looked at Noelle who also got boosted by the blood moon.

  Extremely stupid.

  Giana smiled. “How careless, I wouldn’t expect anything less from you. Noelle maximum defence!”

  Giana and Noelle worked together casting collaboration magic and [Water Fortress] and [Crystal Fortress] got cast, creating a near impenetrable defense. The [Water Fortress] had 12 sets of 9 gates while the [Crystal Fortress] had 16 sets of 7 gates. Each gate needed to be destroyed to get to the idols.

  What the fuck are these overpowered defensive skills?

  Agnis was halfway his second window of overpoweredness so he had to act fast. [Tsunami] completely shattered [Crystal Fortress] as it was an earth based defensive skill.

  “Wow! And you call me overpowered! Noelle’s part of this skill is the hardest part to break!”

  Well, that doesn’t matter if I can’t break this other part. And it’s a 6v1! I have to be overpowered else I’ll be a pushover!

  Agnis used countless [X-1] which ripped the mana out of the remaining [Water Fortress]. Countless frost lasers assaulted the defensive skill and the fortress was rapidly weakening as it was constantly getting bombarded by frost lasers and getting its mana ripped out.

  The last gate of the [Water Fortress] fell the moment Agnis’ window ended and he had to kick impossibilities out of reality and evading random attacks from Noelle.

  The [Elgard Overload] dropped shortly after and Agnis dropped out of his 9t mode.

  Giana used [Transform] and turned into another revised version of ‘Seductive Giana’. She had narrowed down what would work the best on Agnis and got all of her tails out.

  “I have learned so much in this dungeon. I would like to thank you. My [Empathic Bond] allows me to feel what you’re going through. It seemingly also works for this illusion of yours. I have also started to become adept at analyzing magic that I’ve been hit with. It has greatly accelerated my growth. I… feel less of a failure now.”

  A mana wave went out as Giana went 9t mode. Time started glitching again and space started to fold. “I was never able to do this before. Thank you Agnis.”

  Giana’s left eye gained 3 pupils and her right eye gained 4 pupils as she started [Elgard Overload].

  Uh oh.

  Agnis used [Fade] and went for a strategic retreat.

  “Oh wow you completely disappeared, but you’re still here aren’t you?” Giana rewound time to before Agnis used [Fade] and blasted the purest charm magic she could muster at Agnis.

  Wow that is too pink for me! Nilah!

  Nilah created a clone which jumped at the wave and disappeared. Agnis picked up the real Nilah.

  We’re so screwed, we need to stall.

  Giana’s first window of overpoweredness came up and she reduced the distance between her and Agnis to 0, causing her to embrace him.

  how soft and fragratn. I suppose this is my loss...

  “I hope I can get a hug from the real you one day.” Her charm magic flared and blasted Agnis. Nilah turned pink but both Nilah and Agnis still resisted. “Oh, you’re still resisting? What is this? Why are you hurting yourself?

  Giana undid [Blood and Thunder] and blasted Agnis and Nilah again.

  You smell good…

  Giana smiled. “Nilah, would you be so kind to send the charm magic to Agnis?”

  Nilah obeyed and flooded Agnis with charm magic. 3 minutes was all it took for Agnis to become fully [Charmed]. He was covered in pink energy but even despite that he was behaving and not acting like a lovestruck zombie. All he did was embracing Giana and allowing her to play with his tails.

  Giana used her [Elgard Overload] to cast [Grand Sacrifice] without any of the negative side effects to get up her allies. “I want you all to see this.”

  Toxic Donkey got up and seemed very pleased with the situation in front of his eyes. “Whoa you beat him.”

  “Get him Giana! He still seems to be resisting the charm. Finish him off with a charm punch!”

  “I know this is an illusion but… “ Giana wrapped Agnis in her tail, kissed him and simultaneously blasted him with charm magic.

  The illusions lingered of a bit before they all shattered and revealed a room full of treasure. The [Boss music] slowed down and stopped.

  Toxic Donkey slumped and fell on his butt. “We… we did it. We survived!”

  Giana made sure if there wasn’t a Phase 5 and canceled her [Elgard Overload] after confirming that was the end of it.

  “Wow this headache…” Giana tried to combat the headache but nothing worked. “I guess this is the price I need to pay, worth it.”

  “We needed the 6 of us and it didn’t even seem like he was serious. I feel so useless.” Vinny knew that there wasn’t much he could do against something with a high fire affinity but it didn’t make him feel better knowing that.

  “It’s fine we’re alive now let’s see what valuable treasure he has left behind!” Noelle said as her eyes fell on a mountain of precious metals.

  “Ohh is there meat?”

  Noelle and Io went to check out the treasure.

  “Truly valuable…”

  “Giana? Is she daydreaming?” Toxic Donkey snapped his fingers in front of Giana’s face but there was hardly any reaction.

  “Leave her be Kyle, let’s find out what cursed treasure he has left behind.” Vinny gestured toward the treasure pile.

  “Oh shit! That’s also a possibility! Hey guys be carefu…” Toxic Donkey stepped on another explosive trap and got launched. “What is this bullshit! The fight is over!”

  A large light blue cloud of smoke appeared. “I am the genie of the lamp! What is your wish! Oh, there’s a lot of you and another spirit!”

  A stomp went out. “Who the fuck are you? This isn’t a scam, right? I can tell you’re a spirit.”

  “Hey come on why does everyone think that? I fulfilled the wishes of the ones before!”

  Another stomp “Oh really who were they and what did they wish for? Any funny business and you will be stuck in that lamp forever!”

  “My legal obligations prevent me from…” Another stomp went out and intimidated the spirit pretending to be a genie.

  “Uhm, they were the wishes of Agnis, Gregory and Raishin.”

  Giana snapped back to reality. “Oh, what did they wish for!”

  “Uhm, Raishin wished to be rich. He first wanted to wish for something else but got stopped by Agnis.”

  Noelle’s face lit up as she heard Raishin’s name. “Raishin?! Oh, do tell what was he trying to wish for?”

  “Uhh, something about having all the chicks in the world have D-cup or bi….”

  “Bi…?” Noelle cocked her head.

  “That’s where he got cut off.”

  “I see so he likes them big. Thank you now continue or I will lock you up.”

  “Hey can’t you be a bit nic…” A stomp shook the genie again and he decided to just comply. “Uhm Gregory had the boring wish of tripling his reading speed.”

  “Oh, s… so he likes reading.”

  “Yes, I offered other wishes but he was determined to get that now for Agnis he had a lot of strange and impossible wishes.”

  “Oh what did he want?”

  “Hey lass can you tune down those glowing eyes? Agnis did that too it’s intimidating. But he first wanted all his problems to dissolve but that’s way above my paygrade, then he wanted all his enemies to disappear and same story. In the end he made me look bad since I couldn’t grant any of his wishes so I gave him two if he kept it simple.”

  “Do tell!”

  “Uhhm he wanted a year’s worth of fresh salmon and the skill [Phoenix Rebirth]. I told him it would be useless as that skill can only be used by a phoenix but he wouldn’t listen.”

  “What?! He’s planning on something reckless! We get a wish too, right?” Giana said while pressuring the spirit with her Elgards eyes.

  The genie backed off. “Well yes but it has the standard rules, no wishing for more wishes or more genies or anything like that so what is your wish lass with the glowing eyes?”

  “Hmm… How about…”

  The party found themselves in Promise at the entrance of the dungeon. They had collected their treasure and each had their wish granted. They spent some time talking and decided to split up. Io wanted Vinny to coach her on how to fly through the Hurricane path. Toxic Donkey was curious about the Time capsule so Io’s and Toxic Donkey’s interests lined up. Vinny was happy to be of help.

  “Right, we will be off to visit the Hurricane Path before Io nags my other donkey ear off. I’m just curious Giana, why did you fall in love with Agnis?” Toxic Donkey asked.

  “Oh… that’s very embarrassing actually. It’s just a small and minor thing. I won’t bore you with that!”

  “Oh, now I’m even curious! Spit it out!”

  “Well, it started very simple. He took the blame and responsibility for something we did a long time ago. He was completely unrelated to the event. I couldn’t understand how or why someone would do that for people he doesn’t know. That’s how it started. I kept thinking about it and him. ‘would I do the same?’ were some of my thoughts and the answer was ‘no’. So, I kept observing him, getting to know him, and trying to understand how and why. That somehow ended up in me becoming a healer as I slowly started to understand why.” Giana sighed. “It became stronger at the fall of Hourai as he clearly couldn’t remember who we were, we could’ve been enemies for all he knew. He was suspicious of us till the end but that didn’t stop him from saving us. He has changed and can hide it better now. Maybe he isn’t aware of it. I wouldn’t be surprised actually if he doesn’t. but he takes ‘protecting his own’ very seriously.”

  Giana turned red and covered her face with her hands. “See it’s a small and embarrassing thing!”

  “Uhh, wow I didn’t expect that. I think it’s fine. Not everything needs a grand or logical reason”

  “Kyle! Let’s goooo!”

  “Yes yes! Well, I hope you three will be successful and I hope we meet agai…” Io grabbed Toxic Donkey and Vinny, turned into her dragon form and flew off.

  “There they go. I think you worded that wonderful Giana! Now to find out how you’re going to tell Agnis that!” Noelle stuck up her thumb.

  “That…will be harder than that dungeon… But I think you two have it harder. Let’s go. Are you ready Yv?”

  “Yes!”

  The idols had decided to track down team Hourai. They travelled south and ended up in Gavin where Giana and Noelle put pressure on a clerk to add them to team Hourai.

  “Hey Noelle” Giana asked after buying ice cream. “It feels weird to say that but I feel as if that illusion of Agnis went easy on us…”

  Noelle made sure to stabilize her sandwich as it was about to fall apart. “Even the sandwiches are unstable… But you might be right… he didn’t use his fishbowl attack or [Silver Torrent]. He also torched half of Bizax. Not sure what attack he used for that but any 3 of those could have drastically changed the outcome. I’m just glad that we made it out alive. Only Yv lost lives and only 2.”

  “Y…yeah… it hurt but we got lucky… that part with the [Meteor] casting hats…I hope we never get to fight him again.” Yvonne said as she shivered.

  “That is the Oures specialty right there… even the gods felt like never wanting to fight them ever again so they decided to wipe them out… But let’s find them now that we’re officially part of team Hourai! It’s just that half the party doesn’t know this yet.” Giana said excitedly, wondering how team Hourai would react to this.

  “S…so how are we going to find them?” Yvonne asked while eating a strange blue-colored fruit. The group was walking through the boulevard of Gavin and attracting gazes and attention.

  “Well, we now know that Agnis tends to appear around water, right? A large quest has been issued. Something about a large ghost fish and fishermen disappearing.” Giana said while trying to imagine how a ghost fish would taste like.

  “B…but isn’t Gregory afraid of water? Won’t they take the b…big quest in the desert?”

  “Kyle mentioned that Agnis hates sand, so it will be a tug between them two. Agnis is the leader of the group but it might also depend on Raishin. What do you think Raishin would prefer Noelle?”

  “Hmm I remember Raishin and Agnis ganging up on Gregory but they might have changed a lot since Hourai.”

  “Then they will take this quest. Agnis wished for fish. He won’t ignore fishermen disappearing.” Giana [Charmed] a seagull going for her ice cream. The seagull went out, stole ice cream from nearby people and delivered them to Giana.

  “That dungeon seems to have made you incredibly strong.” Noelle said as she casually punched a seagull that tried to steal her sandwich.

  “I feel stronger and more confident than ever.”

  “Giana, Noelle, d…do you mind if we visit the library?” Yvonne didn’t have to defend her food as the seagulls didn’t seem to be interested in her fruit.

  Giana and Noelle smiled and nodded and headed over to the library. They had decided to spend their time in Gavin until the quest would start which was in a month.
