the angel machine

The last thing I remembered was some scientists working on me.

I looked up and was almost blinded by some kind of light shining right into my face.

I was confused, so I tried sitting up, but for some reason, I couldn’t move.

I attempted to yell out but couldn’t make a sound because of some mask on my face.

I looked around, and I eventually saw two people in lab coats in the corner of my eyes.

They eventually noticed I was awake, so the one closest to me told me that I was going to be the test subject of this experiment—to see what came after death.

I wanted to protest, but I knew I did not have a say, since I was a death row inmate. After all, I was falsely convicted of several counts of first-degree murder.

The man then told the other guy, farther away from me,

  “Close the angel machine.”

I was then lifted by some kind of mechanism. I noticed some kind of chamber closing around me.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

When it was fully closed, I thought I was in some kind of tomb.

I then heard the other man say,

  “Chamber is airtight.”

“Alright then, start the machine,” the first guy replied.

I pondered what was going to happen before, all of a sudden, I heard—and felt—some kind of gas spray onto me from inside the machine.

I tried not to breathe it in, but for some reason, I was forced to.

My eyes and lungs started to feel like they were burning.

I tried not to cry, but I couldn’t resist, and tears started rolling down my face.

I tried to break out and escape, but I couldn’t.

What was even worse was that I felt my body go limp.

I knew I was about to die.

I wanted to scream. I wanted to yell. I just wanted someone to help me.

“This is inhumane,” I thought to myself.

I then felt my senses fade out as I was about to pass on.
