Chapter-1: Grind time. And Prime time.

  Welcome pyer!

Would you like to start the game?

  Y/N

"...damn, I finally lost my shit, huh?"

  'Fuck, it. Why not.'

With a mental shrug Alex pressed "Y" to get through his trippy 18th birthday present.

  Game start detected!

  Generating character sheet... Done!

Think "Status" to open your character sheet!

Following the glowing blue box's prompt, which had to be stupid as shit on some level, Alex did as instructed.

  'Status.'

  Name: Axel Kael

  Level: 0

  Title(s): The Gamer

  STR: 6

  AGI: 7

  VIT: 6

  MIN: 7

  CHA: 6

  LUK: 10

  SP: 0

For reference and easy of understanding- peak human performance is 10 in stats, while average is 5!

"Huh... objectively, kinda sad my highest stat is luck. Whelp, uh, tutorial?"

Axel leaned back ontop his bed, looking face up and processing in a detached sorta way.

  Tutorial initiated!

  Quest generated-

You have just started your game, and every veteran knows when you start a new game, the tutorial is the best way to start being the best!

  Objective: Finish the tutorial.

  Timelimit: -

Reward: Mini-map function unlocked, 1 Perk point, skill book: Observe.

  "Okay... so start tutorial?"

  Tutorial beginning now!

Character sheet already viewed, next is looking at what each stat is and represents-

Strength (STR): This determines your physical power and ability to deal damage in melee combat. If you're a warrior or a fighter, this stat will be crucial for you.

Agility (AGI): This represents your speed, reflexes, and coordination. It affects your movement speed, evasion, and accuracy in combat.

Vitality (VIT): This stat governs your overall health, stamina and resilience. A high Vitality score means you can withstand more damage before needing to rest or heal.

Mind (MIN): This stat is all about your cognitive abilities. It affects your ability to memorize information, process complex thoughts, and apply knowledge in creative ways. A high Mind score will help you learn new skills faster and make better decisions in complex situations.

Charisma (CHA): This makes you more appealing, likeable, and attractive to others. It can influence social interactions, persuade NPCs, and even affect your ability to lead others.

Luck (LUK): This stat represents chance and fortune. A high Luck score can give you an edge in random events, such as critical hits, finding rare items, or avoiding unexpected dangers.

Stats are your gate way to progress! You can gain them by exercising their respective areas. Luck is different. You cannot grow this besides stat points you gain from leveling up!

"Oh, nice. Free sexy stat. Could be a movie star if it gets high enough. Sucks about luck though. Oh well, no use in crying over spilled milk. Next."

  Perk 9: Repeater

Repeated actions have a higher yield of experience points gain. In short, the more you practice a skill, the faster it levels up. +10% per instance. For example- if you gain 1 experience points per skill action, with this, the next time you do it, it'll be 1.1, then 1.21, then 1.33, and so forth. Stacks with other modifiers, and works on all skills.

You currently have 3 unspent Perk points! You gain one every five years for free due to your world not being receptive of leveling practices.

"Welp, damn... 'kay, the first one's easy. Perfect recall. Second one... definitely Quick Learner and stly... Repeater- Then when I get that extra perk point from the tutorial reward, I can get endure. Hmmm... damn, they're all just really damn good."

Alex reasoned that all of his perks were amazing, but...

His best bet, were the long haul ones though.

Shuffling a little bit he switched to resting his back against the head board if the bed propping a knee up and draping his left arm on it

Auto-response could be "repced" loosely by having a higher vitality, same thing with slow-mo and agility. So two birds one stone, you get Endure.

Also, who the hell was going to poison some random nobody?

On top of that, he was only 17- sorry, 18 years old, so he had plenty of time to become supernatural levels of strength.

  10 years minimum.

Following that, he thought of purchasing those three perks-

  "SUU, what the fu-"

Time seemed to stand still around him.

The air coming from his vent brushing his skin, the names of the books on his book shelf he wasn't looking directly at being made known to him, the time he could see from his spot on his bed over ten feet away from his bed, what he had for breakfast, how many bites of his toast he took, 12 and some change by the way, and so much more, bombarded his mind.

Memories of such crity, that his life had seemed like an utter lie up to that point in every way, slid into pce. Shit, he remembers all the way back until he was 3. Nothing before that though, strange cut off.

"Shit! I forgot about homework today. This shit is already coming, in... handy... okay, what the hell, this is broken as frick."

Every single page he'd ever read for school, and any other form of literature, was at the forefront of his mind.

Every equation, mathematical formu, sum, historical figure he'd read or heard about, chemistry, philosophy, all at his finger tips.

"This, is fucking, awesome. Okay, next." His excitement was only contained, he suspected, because of his gamer's mind perk.

As the new screen popped up he went over to his PC to start working on his assignments.

  Next is quests!

Quests are as they sound and read, you are given a task, complete the task, get rewards!

Be warned, the harder the task, the higher the rewards. This is not always the case, but the extremely vast majority. No failure penalties will be give since your world is unreseptive of leveling practices.

"Mmmm'kay, that's an easy one. Next."

  Lastly, reputation and retionships!

Humans are social creatures, therefore, the better your retionship with people, and the better your reputation, the better the rewards. Titles can also be gained through reputation, be warned, not all titles are good.

As your world isn't receptive of leveling practices, one a retionship/reputation score reaches 100, it will lock, and be unable to be reduced no matter what.

When you achive 100 in reputatio/retionship score, you will gain a bond perk. This is a dual bound perk, meaning you both will get it. You can toggle it so your bond partner doesn't have access to it whenever you want.

Last and final warning: Even if a retionship/reputation score is at a 100, this doesn't mesn they wont do something that could potentially harm you. Yandere maybe an attractive ideal, but less so when you picture them killing anyone that gets to close to you(retionship wise), or tries to lock you away in a room deep underground never to be found, so they can have you all to themselves. The only thing worse than a competent enemy, is an incompetent or a seriously crazy ass ally.

  Quest complete!

  Rewards distributed-

The function: Mini-map has been unlocked, and your HUD has been updated! To change your HUD settings, you only need to think of them.

  Perk Point x1

  Skill book: Observe x1

  Mini-Map function:

The minimap is a navigational tool that provides a bird's-eye view of your surroundings, helping you track your location, detect potential threats, and stay aware of your environment.

The minimap reveals the positions of allies, enemies, and neutrals within a area covered by your MIN stat, represented by colored dots:

  - Allies: Blue dots

  - Enemies: Red dots

  - Neutrals: Yellow dots

Every point of MIN stat beyond 10 grants 1 additional meter of revealed area on the minimap when exploring new territories. For MIN stats 1-10, each point grants 1 extra foot of revealed area. Maps can be used to reveal areas on your mini-map. Must have correct information or the areas that are incorrect will stay bnk!

"...hmmm, that seems like a loophole I'd love, to jump through."

With the tutorial over, and everything forever cemented unto his memory, Alex purchased endure.

There was no immediate difference he could feel, which was alright. He had, had enough of the crazy reality warping shit that was going on.

Clicking his phone on real quick to check and see if he got any messages, and finding he didn't, he went on to the next reward.

With but a thought the screen for his inventory popped up, and there the book was.

Another thought, and with no sound or any other indication of it happening, said book appeared in his hand.

  Skill book detected!

  Learn the skill: Observe?

  Y/N

  "Yes."

You have learned the skill: Observe Lvl-1!

Observe LvL-1/50: Allows you to see basic information about people and objects, such as stats, buffs, and debuffs. At higher levels, descriptions, allegiances/alignments, and even how they are currently feeling will be shown.

  "Nice."

With that, Alex set about to do something that will always reward the weary.

  "It's grind time."

  ______________

  POV SWITCH

"You know, you'd think it would eventually get old, but holy shit do I love seeing my skills level up, and stats grow."

One thing I'd learn recently, was that my perk choices, were so fucking over powered.

  First off,-

  MIN: 9

Apparently, learning knowledge based skills targets MIN in stat growth, which does make sense.

That, with the stat growth doubled because of perfect recall, made it shoot up to near peak human performance, I'm only a few hours.

Next was how stupidly fast I could learn skills.

Repeater and quick learner combined, meant I only needed to do maybe 200-250 skill actions to max out a skill.

Just to give you an example.

Repeater makes it so experience points are gained per instance, instead of per gain, and cause it to compound, fucking quickly.

Here's the math for it, (0.1+10%)×2, with .1 being the normal amount of experience points gained per skill action. That equates to 0.22.

Repeater makes it so now instead of .1, the equation is changed to (0.22+10%)x2. That's .484. It fucking quadrupled the amount of experience points I gained in two gains of experience points for a skill.

Fucking, quadrupled. And it doesn't stop until the skill levels up.

If you want to use a simpler equation, X(n+1)=2.2x(n), this'll work best. Literally, even if I had a skill needing experience points exceeding the millions it would only take me using the skill 20 times to level it. It's busted as shit.

Basically, I can master skills that take decades, in minutes to hours. For instance, right now-

Calligraphy Proficiency Lvl-50/50: Determines your skill level at writing.

  - Writing speed: +500%

  - Writing quality: +500%

  - Accuracy: 100%

Guitar Proficiency Lvl-50/50: Determines your skill level on the guitar.

  - Pying Speed: +500%

  - Accuracy: 100%

Piano Proficiency Lvl-50/50: Determines your skill level on the guitar.

  - Pying Speed: +500%

  - Accuracy: 100%

MnK proficiency Lvl-50/50: Determines your skill level on the mouse and keyboard.

  - Reaction time: +500%

  - Typing speed: +500%

  - Accuracy: 100%

Singing Proficiency Lvl-50/50: Determines your skill level in singing.

  - Tone Quality: +500%

  - Tone Range: +500%

  - Control/Accuracy: 100%

Drawing Proficiency Lvl-50/50: Determines your skill level in drawing.

  - Quality: +500%

  - Drawing speed: +500%

  - Accuracy: 100%

Like I said, busted as shit.

It's currently 0330 am for me, so I had nothing to do.

Plus, with aim that was akin to aim bot, I literally got reported so much every game, that my account already got shadow banned.

Fun fact, my mini-map applies to video games. Also, another fun fact, when I max level a skill, I get subperks. For gaming, it literally gave me walls. I can see people through walls, and even though I turned it off, it kinda got boring fast because perfect recall makes it so even if im not looking directly at my mini-map, I still know what it shows because its within my field of view.

And I'm just never turning that off. Who would do some stupid shit like that? Least of all for a video game.

I could probably become a pro with the skill level alone and no mini-map or walls, but I'd have to get lucky first, meet a known stack or streamer.

All that, without even leveling up yet. Busted. As. Fuck.

  Another, another, fun fact-

Currently mastered nguages: Japanese, English, Russian, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Portuguese, and Arabic.

I had looked up the top ten nguages I should learn, and thats what came up. I settled for that for now, and I'd learn some more throughout the day on down times or sometimes simir.

My next goal was Korean, Italian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, Polish, Swedish, Dutch, Indonesian, and Hebrew.

  Light work baby.

  Now back to experience points.

Quests can give it, but it's all combat orientated. Earlier I thought about joining a dojo for some martial arts, and a quest popped up.

  Quest generated!

Objective: Defeat 1 opponent by the time you leave the gym. This includes sparring partners.

Bonus objective: Defeat more than 1 opponent.

Reward: 100xp, +100xp for every additional opponent beaten.

Safe to say, I will be doing so today. I had already looked up the closest one near me, opened at 0630am.

It's a Friday, so me showing up that early should be fine unless the instructor gets hammered like most do in Vegas on a Friday night.

  Currently-

"Wopaa, there we go." I just finished sliding a shoe on my foot.

I was going for a little run.

  Click

With a small noise signaling me leaving my assisted apartment living from fostercare, I started my little jog.

  Should I have warmed up?

Maybe, I don't know how the system will affect that, but I didn't really care at the moment-

You have learned a new skill due to a repeated action!

Running Proficiency Lvl-1/50: Determines your endurance and speed while running.

  - Stamina Usage: -2%

  - Speed: +5%

  "Nice~."

  ______________

  POV CHANGE

It took about 30 minutes to get from Axel's house to the strip. By the time he got there and should have been sufficiently winded, he'd maxed out running.

It pushed him into super human levels if what his skill description says is true, which so far, it seems it is.

It gave a 500% boost to speed, and a 99% decrease in stamina usage.

He could literally run without stopping, for the rest of his life, because he "regenerates" stamina faster than running depletes it.

The strip was always filled with people, unless the weather was absolutely horrible, a huge multi-milliom dolr event, or military presence.

Today was not any of those things, so it was shit packed, like a sardine can, with people.

One of such people, was a scam artist. He had a pretty big crowd too.

Now, how could he tell it was a scam?

  Sleight of Hand Proficiency Lvl-50/50:

Determines your skill level in performing subtle and precise manual movements to deceive or manipute objects.

  - Detectability: -99%

  - Fine control: 100%

It took him about 30 minutes of doing card tricks, pickpocketing himself, and a bunch if other cool little things to max it out.

When he maxed it out the subperk he gained allowed him to spot any covert sleight of hand stuff, for instance, the "magician" doing card tricks.

Now, he loved magicians, and junk like that. They were cool.

What wasn't cool, was you saying you were doing the trick, when im actuality, you have a pnted person in the crowd to be "used" in a trick.

On top of that, you aren't performing the trick, a machine is.

Now add all of that, to the pickpocketing the dude was doing to all the peoppe there and stealing stuff.

It was time to make some money, because what magician would do something without making money in Vegas, baby?

Before he could move however, his gaze caught the single most beautiful pair of green eyes he'd ever seen in his life.

She was chuckling slightly, which turned into a little grin when said eyes nded on his and caught him staring.

"Oh, hello there stranger. You here to lose some money too?"

Oh, her voice. Shit, she was sexy on wheels.

"Hah, one time never hurt nobody, right?"

She again just chuckled an watched as he kept heading towards the center of the crowd.

"Alright! Now, for my next trick, wi're gonna py, 'Poker, I hardly know her?!'. Who wants to be my volunteer??"

Axel walked right out of the crowd, and up to the con man.

  "That'd be me my dude."

The thief seemed a little ticked, probably because the pnt he was about to point at never had the chance, and if he turned Axel away, it'd be weird.

Weird enough for people to start asking questions, which was a no-no.

"Alright young d! Come here, we're gonna py a little bit of a grown ups game you've never seen. You ever pyed before, young man?"

Axel, had infact never pyed before, but perfect recall, for the win, let him remember every rule he'd seen in his card trick learning splurge.

"Yep!" Came his bold face lie.

'Oo, nice, a skill for lying.'

"Well alrighty then. So, first I'll have you shuffle the cards, okay?"

"Got it, sounds easy enough." The small smile on his face wouldn't leave.

With quick, precise hand movements, he proceeded to shuffle the cards into a perfect blend.

Only problem, while he had shuffled, he'd slipped three cards into his hand and into a pocket without anyone seeing.

Fucking busted ass skilsl and system.

  'Best birthday present, ever.'

"Okay, so this game is a little wittle bit different than normal. I'm gonna bet, I will never lose and you'll bet you'll win. I'll even let you have help from the crowd, to decide whether to fold, raise, or call. Are you ready?"

  "Oh, I'm always ready."

  And that sealed the deal.

Over the course of the next 15 minutes, Axel had won two grand, from the thief that was money from the people he'd stolen from tonight.

The magician would py a trick in like a card on his forehead that would make a pair, or flush, but Axel, would always, always, get a Royale, flush.

People bought into it thinking it was all part of the trick and skit, but the few that either part of the scam, or were good enough to know what was going on, couldn't help but realize the kid was cheating, cheating so well in fact, that none of them could tell how.

No matter how hard they looked.

Not even one very observant red haired, angelic smile, green eyed woman.

And that, was intriguing, because she was good, part of the best as a matter of fact.

"Alright kid, you're cheating! Get the fuck off my area and give me back my money before I call the cops!"

Shocked murmuring and excmations simmered through the crowd like a stream over rocks.

"Hmm, how about no?" And with that, he bolted through the crowd.

Quickly three men broke away, chasing after him, giving away there were people pnted in the crowd.

Axel couldn't help but note that even though he exposed the guy, people were still so stupidly blind about the scam.

As he started running, he had to make sure it was within what would be excitable of a kid his age. He could push it further by saying he was in track in high school, which was technically true. Just as a coach assistant.

So, ad he kept running, he slowly began to out pace the dudes running after him.

After rounding a corner, he sprinted for a few seconds before the men rounded the corner.

It was an easy way to gain distance from them without them thinking something was amiss.

He took a few more corners, before dropping into a back alley, and stopping.

He quickly hid, and without touching the money in his pocket, he sent in into his inventory.

That's when he noticed something strange. A small circur quarter sized lump was in his pocket, that he didn't remember was there before.

He pulled it out and it was an AirTag.

  "Ah, shit."

Before he could throw it or something simir, three voices came floating down the alley way.

As they got louder and closer, one of them called out.

"Alright kid. If you come out now, and just give us the money, we're only gonna break an arm and leg okay? You really have no clue who the fuck you're messing with bud."

Instead of waiting for them to come to him, he slide a rock about half the size of his palm into his hand and shuffeling as quielty as he co-

You have learned a new skill do to a repeated action!

Stealth Proficiency: Determines your ability of how well you can sneak and go undetected.

  - Detection: -2%

  - Noise/scent: -2%

  - Presence reduction: +2%

  'Oh, baby.'

Pulling on his limited knowledge of how to throw fastballs from his middle school years in baseball, he squares his chest, cocked his hips, pulled back, coiled like a snake, and let the rock fucking rip.

  crack

Without any sound but a meaty-wet smack of stone on skull, Axel rushed the guy in the front, right as his head turned to look at his downed buddy.

Getting close, Axel pulled his fist back, and rotating his hips, delivered a strike directly to the back of the head of the guy that made the threats.

  Thmph

He rocked forward and fell to the ground. Really wishing he'd studied self defense, at least how to throw a proper punch, the guys lights would probably have been out instead of just falling to the floor and being dazed.

  Due to-

  'Damnit not right now.'

The st guy standing had gotten close, very close and quickly showed he was better at fighting than Axel.

  SwifPAHP

A right jab that was a faint for a thigh kick, that although didn't have much power behind it, hurt like an absolute bitch.

A groan threatened to slip through his mouth.

He shuffled back in a weird little jump that got him some distance.

The man kept coming at him with feints, earning him hard hits here and there, but something strange started to happen.

Less punches started to nd, feints getting seen through, hits of his own nding on the guy who was now visibly winded.

Right when Axel was getting comfortable and about to go on the offense, leading with a sternum kick, something hard, and fast hit the side of his head.

His eyes teared instantly the next moment as a shoe came crashing into his nose, making a nice little pancake.

A down side now revealed in the mini-map, it just shows you where the enemies are at, not if they are up and able to move.

The first man, the one who'd yelled the threats out had picked up the very same rock Axel had thrown, and reinacted what he'd done earlier.

As his gaurd was broken, then the guy he was fighting took the opening and made him pay for it.

Thankfully he didn't drop like a sack of potatoes, allowing him to dive for the guys waist.

He felt heavy elbows sm into his ribs, while he could hear the first guy coming closer.

With a desperate attempt he lifted with all his might and smmed the guy he was fight into the wall, making him sck in Axels grip for a second.

Insult guy was now close enough that when he swung at Axel he couldn't dodge or block in time, and took it right to the left cheekbone.

A dull ring hit his ears, rattling his brain, causing him to stumble to the floor. A kick pnted in his side kept him there, and another, and another.

He quickly turtled up, covering all his important parts, trying to weather the pounding blows.

  "What th-urgk!"

  Bam

The blows stopped and Axel took his chance to immediately put distance him and the men.

As he stood with a now decent gaurd up, he took in a sight he'd never forget for the rest of his life.

A red haired woman in deep blue skinny jeans, white low cut vans, bck tank top under a white blouse, was kicking the ever living shit out if the three guys that were up.

She picked them apart, slipping punches, hitting quick, debilitating shots, smming knees, elbows, and even her forehead once, into faces, heads, and groins.

  "Dayumn."

He slowly sat down just letting the dull throbs throughout his body wash over him, bringing him to a distinct realization, he was way too calm for all this, and it was 100% due to his perk.

He, loved it. He felt so alive, reacting to the feints, dancing with a shared understanding of hurt wanting to go around. His heart kept it's steady beat, but he felt as high as a kite on cloud 99.

He would have to practice those moves he saw her doing, just have to match it to his size and frame and he'd be pretty damn hard to fight and win against.

Only question was, who was the sexy badass, and could he get her to train him?
