[Between the Castle Walls and the Plains of Death – The Hour of Attack]

[Between the Castle Walls and the Plains of Death – The Hour of Attack]

The mist began to recede slowly, leaving the sky pale with the color of ash. Across the plains before Drakarion Castle, long ranks like black chains moved slowly… then quickly… then like a flood.

It was the army of House Ravenger…

And despite their tents burning, their supplies scattered,

and despite losing a quarter of their strength,

  those who remained…

were the elite, the deadly blade.

  Various kinds of fighters,

  archers, swordsmen, crossbowmen, axemen,

and even the armored oxen returned to bellow across the plains.

  Then…

The sound of horns exploded in the sky.

It was the declaration of attack.

[Parallel Scene – The Walls of Drakarion Castle]

The beating of drums echoed from above the walls,

and every strike upon them was like the heartbeat of a soldier preparing for death or glory.

Trevor Drakarion stood on the highest tower, his armor gleaming under the morning sun, his eyes on the army marching towards him.

Behind him, archers sharpened their bows,

  crossbowmen were in their positions,

  and oil heated in cauldrons.

[Parallel Scene – The Vanguard of the Ravenger Army]

Commander Vagnar himself advanced… his black armor covered in the symbols of past battles, his massive sword hung at his side, and his helmet under his arm.

  He was in his forties,

but every step he took carried the history of a hundred battles.

Today… might be the day of his new glory,

or the end of his bloody book.

He drew his helmet, placed it on his head,

then raised his sword to the sky.

Vagnar (in a voice like thunder):

  "Forward!

If we fall… it will not be in silence!

But a final cry… that will shake the castles after us!"

  And hell began.

Swords were drawn, feet pounded the earth,

arrows were loosed from both sides,

and the sky rained fire and iron.

  The great battle had begun…

and every man in it, from either side,

knew that he would not be the same after today.

The sound of horns faded, replaced by the roar of war… then, suddenly, the air exploded.

  The arrows flew.

From above the walls, from every tower and every opening, a hundred arrows were loosed every second.

Longbows drawn by unwavering hands, arrows swooping like hungry ravens,

fell upon the heads of the advancing Ravenger army like a black wave.

Dozens fell, then hundreds, but they did not stop.

Alas, hatred had sharpened them, and Vagnar had ignited in them the ember of revenge.

[Parallel Scene – Beneath the Walls]

The soldiers advanced over the bodies of their comrades,

Vagnar at their head, his sword raised as if defying the sky.

  Then…

  The volley of crossbows.

Short, flaming bolts rained down like hell,

striking the front ranks, piercing eyes, chests, and armor.

Fires broke out among the soldiers, their screams rose above the sound of the drums.

But they continued, crawling over blood and fire.

[Scene Three – The Moment of True Terror]

Above them, special openings in the walls were opened,

  and the cauldrons swooped down,

  and boiling oil was poured.

Skins melted, screams rose as if demons had emerged from the earth.

  Then burning rocks rolled down…

stones the size of oxen, ablaze with fire,

crashing into the midst of the crowds like meteors.

It was hell descending from the walls of Drakarion.

[Parallel Scene – Between the Ranks]

A commander from the Ravenger army fell to his knees, screaming:

  Commander:

  "Hundreds will be killed!!"

Vagnar, his eyes blazing with fire from behind his helmet, roared madly:

  Vagnar:

  "Thousands, then!

  Follow me!

  Forward!

We will fall… or bring them down with us!"

The battle raged, blood stained the stones, and the sky was darkened by the smoke of fires and ash,

but… this was only the first chapter.

The screaming rose, swords hammered the gates, rocks shattered the towers,

and the entire Ravenger army had massed around the castle walls…

as if about to breach them,

  to swallow them whole.

On the highest tower, Trevor Drakarion stood, his eyes burning…

then he opened his mouth and unleashed the command like lightning:

  Trevor:

  "Alister! Now!!!"

[Parallel Scene – Beneath the Gate – The Iron Handles]

The workers rushed towards the handles, five men gripped one…

  It did not move.

  Five more were added…

  Then ten more.

The iron groaned, but did not budge.

The Ravenger army pressed harder, the drums almost broke, the towers shook.

Forty men were pulling now, their veins bulging, their bodies dripping with sweat and blood.

  Alister (shouting):

  "Pull!!!"

  And finally… it moved.

The giant iron handle descended with terrifying slowness…

  Then, suddenly…

  Silence.

  Quiet.

  Terror.

  Moments of anticipation…

  Then…

[The Greatest Scene – The Birth of Legend]

  The earth trembled.

  A tremor…

  then a crack…

  then a collapse.

The ground around the castle opened its mouth,

and a giant pit formed, hundreds of meters wide,

deep… black… as if it were hell itself.

  The entire army…

  led by Vagnar himself…

  fell.

They screamed, they scrambled, but there was no escape.

  Vagnar vanished into nothingness,

with his soldiers, his banners, his swords,

and a glory that had spanned decades.

The piled bodies were dragged down with them,

as if the earth had swallowed time.

[The Silent Scene – Above the Walls]

  No sound.

  No arrow.

  No drum.

  Even the air stopped.

The archers on both sides stared in astonishment.

The remaining Ravenger soldiers in the rear stood motionless, their ranks unable to comprehend.

  Trevor himself… stared from above,

  his eyes wide,

  his breath caught.

Trevor (in a whisper no one heard):

  "...it was... real."

  Astor:

  "Legends, my Lord...

  are not born from nothing."
