As Rome trying hard to understand, Kimimaro couldn't help but observed the timid boy in front of him once again and recalled on their first meeting.

  He took Rome from Sabaody archipego exactly 3 years ago, at that time, Kimimaro had just gotten promoted to Rear Admiral rank after hunting pirates nonstop for 2 years since his spectacur graduation, thinking that he need some time to rex, he went to Sabaody Park.

  On the way to the park, Kimimaro noticed an unkempt young boy around 9 or 10 years old wearing ragged hood hiding inside the bush, he had broken eyegsses on one of his eye and the boy also wore an explosive colr usualy used by sve.

  Initialy, Kimimaro doesn't want to have anything to do with the boy, sves were everywhere, he doesn't want to jeopardize his life mission just to save one unknown sve out of nowhere, at least not this early.

  however, Kimimaro was quite intrigued when he saw Rome was actualy drawing Sabaody park map on the ground using a twig, he draw the maps and the structure of each rides only relying on his vision! seeing the detailed structure of Rome's drawing, Kimimaro's interest immediately surged!

  Kimimaro was engineer himself, his need of good drawing on schematic makes Rome's value skyrocket in his eyes.

  seeing the boy longing gaze toward Sabaody park, Kimimaro felt something tugged at his heart.

  When Kimimaro approach him, Rome suddenly ran away making the former attempt to ask fruitless, and yet, after Kimimaro spent his time pying in the park, he saw the boy once again at the same spot when he was about to return to Marineford.

  Rome was eating moldy bread he got out of nowhere, Kimimaro Immediately went to ask his circumstances only for Rome to ran away once again, Kimimaro was helpless and went to chase him briefly.

  How could Rome run from Kimimaro? The ter easily subdued him, Seeing his captor was someone wearing Marine uniform, he was afraid that he would be arrested by the marine! thats right, when Kimimaro was still below Vice Admiral rank, he wore Marine standard issued uniform complete with coat of justice.

  Long story short, Kimimaro learnt about the boy's name and why he was alone, turned out his owner got a sudden heart attack! Rome quickly hid his owner body in the bush, however, he couldn't do anything to his now ownerless colr, it would explode if he was too far from the owner after all, despite his owner had died.

  Kimimaro quickly took his chance and release Rome from svery, stating that he needs his talent on drawing. From that moment on, Rome had become the first Marine recruits by the recomendation of the youngest Rear Admiral.

  After Rome took a quick course on Navigational css which Kimimaro suggest him to do, the ter send him to Tiana tutege.

  Rome squeezed his face looking funny, however he shook his head as he still don't understand what Kimimaro implied on him.

  "I'm sorry sir, i really don't understand what you're talking about." Rome felt regret slightly.

  Kimimaro smiled gently, he saw Rome was genuinely doesn't understood,

  "Well, let me make it clear. Did you sometimes hear something usually couldn't be heard by other people? like small whisper, or something from far away?"

  Rome was stumped, however he now understood, he tried to recall his recent behavior, then, it clicked inside his mind. He recalled when he was still underground on 50th Marine branch, he says that he had listened to something, however, Kimimaro expression at that time towards him was rather weird.

  "Do you mean about 50th base underground sir? did i do some mistakes? uhm, could it be i heard something i shouldn't sir?" Gulping his saliva, Rome nervously look at Kimimaro.

  Kimimaro ughed as he expined, "Well, not exactly. when you cimed that you hear something behind the door. I actually didn't hear anything, however, i learned that it was not because there was no one inside the door, but because no one for sure could hear anything escaping from the door!"

  Rome waved his hands in panic and tried to expined, "I didn't lie sir, i really hear something!"

  Kimimaro nodded, "I trust you, don't worry."

  Rome sighed in relief seeing Kimimaro gentle smile, "then? Why couldn't you hear anything sir?"

  "Thats because of one man inside the room, he ate devil fruit that could nullify sounds!"

  "Huh?! Devil fruit? Nullify sounds?" Taken aback Rome stood up.

  Kimimaro nodded as he sips on his cup of milk, "Rex, you don't need to concern yourself with it."

  "Then, then. How could i hear voice coming from the door? if what you said is true, sir?"

  Kimimaro's eyes glint with unknown light, then he rexed his back on the sofa, "Thats what i tried to find out, no, you need to find out."

  Rome was still couldn't understand, if what Kimimaro said was true, then the room behind the door was shielded by sounds nullifying ability. How could he heard voices then? Could it be he was special or some sort?

  Rome rattling his head trying to deny the notion, how could he, a former sve, a young boy, and marine recruit had special ability? Even in dream Rome doesn't dare to think about it!

  As, fate might be pying some game with Rome's feeling as suddenly he heard someone call for help from afar!
