Chapter 5 : A talk with the science teacher

That caught me off guard, and as I noticed, I was not the only one. The whole cssroom's attention was now on Touka.

"Excuse me," the teacher said, taken aback.

  "You heard me," Touka responded.

"T...T...T This is unacceptable behavior, Touka."

"So is yours," Touka shot back.

"Leave now; we will talk about this ter with the principal.

"Sure, I would be gd to leave."

Shrugging her shoulders, Touka just nonchantly grabbed her bag and left. With the door locking closed behind her, Ms. Jura said.

,, Students Please just solve the papers and then you can get breaktime early, i have to talk with your principal about this"

That had an surprisingly good inpact i thought. Quickly i solved the paper and waited for teacher too collect the papers. When everyone was finished she collected the papers and said.

,,well then ill be talking to our Principal you all may enjoy your extended break please keep in mind that other Csses are still teaching so lower your volume when talking on the floors"

With that she left our Cssroom 25 minutes before actuall breaktime. Witj nothing too actually do with the extra time i kind of aimlessley wanderd through the floors off the Schoolbuilding.

"Hey Niko, what are you doing here at this time?"

A voice called out to me, so I turned around to see who it was. The one who was standing behind me was Ms. Aline, our science teacher. She had medium-length bck hair and green eyes. She was a teacher I used to talk to a lot back when I had trouble making friends at this school. But after I found a friend, I kind of stopped talking to her because it felt kind of awkward. She was also one of the youngest teachers at this school, but don't be mistaken; she is one of the strictest teachers here.

"Ah, Ms. Jura said she had to talk to the principal, so she gave us break time early."

"Oh really? Well, that fits my schedule since I wanted to talk to you anyway. Mind if you join me in the cafeteria so we can talk in peace?"

"Got nothing else to do anyway."

Making our way to the cafeteria, Ms. Aline asked me,

"So, how have you been over the summer break? I mean, did you have a tough time taking care of your sister?"

"To be honest, it wasn't tough since all there is really to do is clean a small room, cook food, and every now and then go shopping for food."

"Look, I am sorry that your parents just left you both, but I promise that your future will be a bright one."

"Did you really have to bring that up again? What makes you so sure it will be bright?"

  "Just a feeling."

Arriving at the cafeteria, Ms. Aline asked me,

"So, do you want anything? Don't worry, I'll pay."

"I'm okay; you kind of ruined my appetite back there."

  "Not even a drink?"

"I'll have one of the chocote milk packets they sell."

Following Ms. Aline to the counter, the kitchen worker asked her,

"Oh, Ms. Aline, what can I do for you today?"

"Umm, I'll have a cup of coffee and one of those chocote milk packets, and give me one bag of the potato chips you sell."

  "Sure, one moment."

With that, the worker disappeared into the back room, coming out a moment ter carrying a tray. On it were the items she had ordered.

  "That will be 8.99."

  "I'll pay with card."

  "Sure."

After she paid, we sat down at a table, and sipping from her coffee, she spoke.

"Um, so what I wanted to talk to you about is your friend Mike; he also won't attend this school year."

"Uhhhh, man, really?" I sighed, then continued speaking.

"So, do you know where the others and Mike went?"

"Well, the others, yes, more or less. But Mike, I have no idea about him."

"What do you mean by that?"

"From what I heard, a new school in Sivigel opened to fill the remaining empty spots. They offered some students from our school here pretty hefty sums of money to send them to their school instead."

"But is that even allowed? On the other side, why pay people to attend your school? Is it that bad? I mean, it just opened; it just doesn't make sense to me."

  "I have no clue, honestly."

  "So what about Mike?"

"Apparently, he just disappeared; like there are no traces of him or his family members."

"Really? Do you know anything more? Since when has he been gone? Any more information?"

"No, that's all the authorities told us. Since they are still investigating their sudden disappearance, they won't tell us more."

"Hm, I haven't seen him online for quite some time either. Well, wherever he is, I hope he's doing fine."

Twisting a teaspoon in her coffee, Ms. Aline smiled at me and said, "I do as well."

"So, Niko, before we end our little chit-chat, I have one st question for you."

  "And that is?"

With a slight smile, she asked, "Who was that girl you were walking with this morning?"

"Oh, she's an old childhood friend I reconnected with. She just joined our school today. Why do you ask?"

As soon as I said that, her finger that was stirring the coffee bent the spoon. Surprised, I asked her, "Ms. Aline, everything okay?"

Smiling brightly, she replied, "Yeah, yeah, everything is okay. Oh, I must have accidentally bent my spoon. Well, I think I have to go now; I really overextended my break time here as a teacher."
