E-Naeurl, Re-Estize Kingdom (POV Azuth)The heteromorph, who called itself Amanomahitotsu, a hell of a name, sat directly across from me. We were now in Count Naeura's mansion, in one of the many reception rooms. If I weren't so threatened by this thing, I would've ughed at the comical way it was sitting. The chair was much too small for the monster, so a rger one had to be brought in; even so, he still towered above the rest of the room's inhabitants.
It kept its story of being a merchant who merely got lost after encountering a magical anomaly. While the city's militia and guards were convinced of its promise not to damage the city more, I was not.
I could say the same thing for the adventurer team that defended the gate breach; they were also in the room with us, along with the local nobleman-Count Naeura. I think the team is called "Four Armaments" or something simir. They were all very cautious around Amanomahitotsu and had their hands near their weapons.
Count Nauera's rambunctious ugh ech
oed through the room. I never really liked him; he was way too energetic for his own good. Looking over, Amanomahitotsu had produced another weapon that would've made nations go to war, a spear this time. It was pure white and had a design that looked like a snake was coiling up the shaft of the weapon, ending with the snake opening its jaws as if it were to devour the bde. The shaft also had strips of leather, not cow leather, but what looked to be dragon leather, wrapped around areas that would provide the best flexibility.
Everyone in the room was awestruck by the weapon.
After a few moments of silence, Amanomahitotsu coughed and brought everyone back to reality:
"This spear is called [Celestial Wrath]. Among it being forged from [Brightsteel], it has several enchantments and magical properties that enhance it."
The Count stammered: "A-and what are these magical properties?"
The heteromorph seemed to brighten after the question was asked. "Well, among it allowing its wielder to fly for up to an hour a day. It can also cast the [5th Tier] variant of [Weather Control], shoots bolts of lightning from the bde, and hitting a target multiple times in quick succession will let out a booming sound of thunder that deafens everyone in a 5-meter radius except for the wielder."
Once again, everyone was dumbfounded by what they had just heard. This weapon single-handedly allowed the wielder to destroy armies; if The Sne Theocracy found out about this, they would do their best to retrieve it so that they could continue their "holy war" against non-humans.
Amanomahitotsu seemed to sense the greed of some. "Although if the wielder isn't strong enough, their body may spontaneously combust when using the weapon's magical properties. . . among other drawbacks," it quickly added the st part.
I sighed in relief, along with Four Armaments. I wasn't religious, but I thanked the Six that no random smuck could pick it up and potentially destroy cities using it. Then it hit me.
"Why are you telling us about this?"
It seemed to confuse Amanomahitotsu. " Well, I'm giving it to the Count to pay for all the damage I did to the city and his people and I want us to have a better retionship. After all, I need customers if I want to sell my wares!" He paused. "I have other items if this doesn't interest you."
Count Nauera nearly choked on his spit before hastily replying, "No need, Master Amanomatsu! This gift is more than enough to pay for the damages." He took the spear from the monster's cws before almost crumpling due to its weight.
"This is very generous of you. If I may ask, why are you doing this for us?" The knightly looking woman of the Four Armaments asked.
"Like I said, it's to repay you for all the damages I did to the city! And also, you guys looked like you needed it if you had that much trouble with a Death Knight."
She tried to wipe the look of shock and stupefaction off her face but couldn't. What did he mean by that?
"Death Knights are legendary undead capable of destroying towns and raising armies of the dead!"
"If you say so. ." Amanomahitotsu didn't sound convinced as more items suddenly appeared on the table.
Turning to me, he said: "Now. Would you like something from my shop?"
The Great Tomb of Nazerick, Sorcerer Kingdom (POV Bellriver)
The room was silent as they watched Amanomahitotsu through the [Mirror of Remote Viewing]. The [Powered Suit] user ended up being Asuzu Aindora, or Red Drop, the solo adamantite css adventurer team, as Demiurge expined to Ainz and me.
His spies have been monitoring him for about a month and have already created a file. Ulbert's creation was brilliant; he always did more than was required.
As I accepted the file, Ainz thanked the archdemon: "I thank you, Demiurge. You are always ahead on everything."
Demiurge bowed in return. "It is only natural for the creations of the Supreme Beings to give our all in your service. " He sat back down afterward.
"L-Lord Ainz," a meek voice cut through the room. It was Mare. "Why did Lord Amanomahitotsu follow those humans if they attacked him first?"
"Because it is better to accept peace when there is nothing to gain with violence," The overlord said gently, "Also, Mare, it's not good to assume that he didn't attack first, if out of malice or just confusion. He seemed to be just as confused as Bellriver when he arrived."
Mare beamed at the response, "Thank you, Lord Ainz!" His sister, Aura, spoke up: "Then why don't we just go and rescue him while he was running from those guards?"
I took the lead on this one, "Because someone might put the puzzle pieces together and realize that we saved him. If they realize that, then who is to stop them from looking for the other Supreme Beings and capturing, maybe even killing them before we realize."
Aura nodded in affirmation; at least mentally, she was always the more mature of the two. "Got it! So we don't want anyone who could threaten us catching on to the Supreme Beings returning because they could possibly use them to get to Nazerick!"
"But how can anyone in this world threaten a Supreme Being?!" Mare asked.
"We are not perfect beings. Sometimes we make mistakes, and those who wish us harm can exploit those mistakes." Ainz nodded in agreement; I'm still trying to get used to this "Supreme Being" thing.
"Bellriver is correct!" my guildmate's voice boomed throughout the room, "Although we are much more powerful than the inhabitants of this world, all it takes is one individual to threaten our power. If we don't tread carefully, it may cost us everything."
The twins smiled, having learned another lesson in humility. Ainz had been trying to teach them to be more aware of their faults so that they could understand their limits. He said that success was . . . mixed.
"Nonetheless, we should try to figure out a way to get Amanomahitotsu to us in a more natural way." Ainz turned to Demiurge, "I want eyes on Amanomahitotsu at all times! Try to get him to our territory or one of our armies so that we can unite him with friends."
Demiurge bowed, "It shall be done, my Lord. May I ask if we will use Albedo to reunite him with you?"
The overlord thought for a moment, "No, we can't have any connections to him. What does our current foothold of E-Restize look like?"
"We currently have captured the South and East of the Kingdom and we are approaching 100 kilometers of the capital!"
"That's much more than I thought."
"Naturally, Lord Ainz. The kingdom used most of its army at the Battle of the Katze Pins; those who survived were too afraid to fight or weak to mount any meaningful resistance!"
"I believe that Marquies Ravean holds territory near E-Naeurl," I questioned.
"He does, my Lord. Shall we attempt to divert Lord Amanomahitotsu to E-Ravael?"
"Yes, tell Marquis Ravean to invite Amanomahitotsu into his city with open arms; we can pick him up there along with Albedo."
"Understood, Lord Bellriver." Demiurge stood up, and a [Gate] teleported him elsewhere in the tomb.
Ainz stood up and said, "Everyone may attend to their regur duties now. Remember that all Floor Guardians are to be on break tomorrow. I have pns for all of us!"
The Floor Guardians all showed their thanks before several [Gate]s opened to take them elsewhere.
"You did good!" Ainz patted me on the shoulder.
"I learn from the best," I replied, chuckling. "I learned the meaning of patience after Punitto Moe left. I wish that I learned it earlier."
"No way! You actually learned something!" My friend shot back sarcastically. We both burst into ughter, "In all seriousness, we should prepare for Amanomahitotsu's return."
"Agreed."
E-Naeurl, Re-Estize Kingdom (POV Amanomahitotsu)As I left Count Nauera's mansion, he again thanked me for my business. I ended up selling them a few mid-level armor and weapons that I had left in my inventory. I wasn't the best businessman, and I didn't know how currency worked in this nd, so I sold them at what I thought was a reasonable price.
The Count and those adventurers bought them up in a heartbeat, not even trying to haggle. In hindsight, it was probably too cheap; considering the quality of their gear, I could have charged more! It doesn't matter anymore; the past is the past for a reason, and I gained valuable information on the region.
This port city is currently in the Re-Estize Kingdom, the country was much like Japan in the 22nd century; Those with money controlled everything.
The Baharuth Empire is to the east. They frequently cshed with Re-Estize and were considered rivals in a sense.
The Dwarf Kingdom is also located to the east. It is mountainous, and the dwarves were nearly wiped out by demi-humans. However, the Sorceror Kingdom sent aid, which allowed them to fight back against their foes and take back their homend. The Sorceror Kingdom is currently helping the dwarves rebuild their previously lost cities.
Speaking of which, the Sorceror Kingdom. They are an emerging power in the South, led by a powerful lich. Strangly enough, no one dared to say his name, they treated him like a boogy man. This Sorceror King is invading the Re-Estize Kingdom, and it has been reported that they are inching closer to the capital everyday-in other words, Re-Estize is losing.
The Sne Theocracy is also to the South. It's said that their country is the oldest among human countries. The Theocracy worships the "Six Great Gods" and is hostile to all nonhuman species. Other than that, there is little information about the Theocracy other than rumors.
And to the West? It's pretty much all ocean.
But the North does hold some promise; the Argnd Council State is more of a loose confederation of countries, each led by a dragon. They are inclusive of all species and don't tend to discriminate. If I can draw the attention of one of the dragons, I can form a network of buyers and get all the money I need!
However, I should head to E-Raveal. It's considered a safe zone for everyone. The city has been mostly untouched by the Sorceror Kingdom, and its armies actively avoid the city when they march past it. The people there are desperate, and desperate people will do anything for something that can save them. I can get more of the local currency there.
"Thank you, Count Nauera! You have been a great help keeping up with current events," I said as we shook hands. The guards were still wary of me, and they were all watching me talk to the Count.
"No worries Master Amanomahitotsu! You have been a great help with fending off the Sorcerer King with those weapons you sold us. The people of E-Naeurl thank you!"
The boisterous Count gave my cw arm a pyful punch, which he regretted as he nursed the hand afterward.
Trying not to ugh, I replied: "No worries, Count Nauera. I'm just a merchant looking to make some gold! But you can expect a discount next time I return as repayment for the damages."
Following the road, I could hear him bidding farewell to me. The weird thing is: That Azuth guy, the one with the [Powered Suit] disappeared after our exchange. But I wasn't surprised after learning that this is his home country and some of Adventurers' duties.
Maybe I'll see him again?
Who knows?
