Chapter 2 – “The Echoing Truth”

Chapter 2 – “The Echoing Truth”

Opening: 7 Years Later — A World That Moved On

The world didn’t end that day.

But something inside it changed forever.

Seven years after the Tenshina incident, life seems normal. Schools open with the morning bell. Trains run on time. People rush to work, lost in their schedules. The streets of Tokyo remain lively — kids laugh, vendors call out, and the skyline gleams with ambition.

But beneath the surface, something is missing.

  Not visible. Not spoken.

Flickering neon signs sometimes catch the eye:

  ---

  “Kyra Usage Policy Updated.”

  “Elemental Signatures Under Review.”

“Reminder: No Fire or Water Type Detected Since Year 218.”

People pretend not to notice. But deep down, they all remember.

The elemental Kyra — fire, water, wind, lightning — powers once seen as symbols of strength, inspiration, even divinity… have vanished.

  Not outlawed. Not destroyed.

  Erased.

Like nature itself rewrote the rules.

Tenshina District – Marked and Forgotten

Once, Tenshina was known for its riverside serenity. Birds nested along willow trees, bridges stretched like open arms, and festivals lit the water with floating lanterns.

Now, it sleeps in silence. A quiet zone.

Barriers surround it, but there are no guards. Only scanners. Only warnings.

  FLASHBACK NEWS CLIP

"Seven years ago, a glowing shard — believed to be of Kyra origin — crashed onto Tenshina bridge. Eight people were present. Five died on impact. Two more succumbed to critical wounds. Only one survived… but remains in a state of 'Kyra Suspension' — neither dead nor awake."

The media doesn’t talk about it anymore. But rumors remain.

That the shard didn’t just harm people — it absorbed elemental Kyra itself.

And with it, took a piece of balance the world never got back.

Scene Shift – Council Hall, Tokyo HQ

A modern chamber of glass, stone, and light. A round table. Holograms floating above. Kyra readings. Student registrations. Threat-level graphs. Council members dressed in navy and white — a symbol of order.

At the center, Chairman Raiken Shinsai stands.

  Calm. Respected. Trusted.

  ---

  Act 1 – The Chairman’s Echo

  ---

Raiken speaks slowly, but every word lands with purpose.

“One hundred eighty years ago, when the skies cracked and glowing fragments fell… we called it a meteor shower. But it wasn’t. It was Kyra. A force that binds, awakens, and alters.”

“At first, it gifted powers. Fire. Water. Frost. Lightning. Light. Shadow. People awakened — 11% of the world’s population. Most adapted. Some resisted. Others… lost themselves.”

  “But then, it changed.”

Raiken points toward a red-glowing point on the digital map: Tenshina.

“Seven years ago, one Kyra shard changed everything. Not just lives. Not just laws. But the very structure of Kyra itself.”

“Elemental Kyra faded. Entire types ceased. No fire. No water. No wind. Just silence. As if the world took back what it gave.”

  ---

  Act 2 – Council’s Response

  ---

  Councilor 1 (confused):

“So, are we saying nature deleted elemental Kyra?”

  Councilor 2 (nervous):

“If so, what’s next? What happens when healing fades? When light vanishes?”

  Councilor 3 (analytical):

“We’ve studied it. Non-elemental forms—like telepathic, sensory, or resonance-based Kyra—remain. But the raw elements are gone. Permanently.”

  Councilor 4 (curious):

  “And the boy from Tenshina?”

Raiken remains silent for a moment… then answers.

“Still alive. Still breathing. Kyra signature faint… but active. His condition has never changed.”

A silence falls over the chamber. Not fear. Not anger. Just a question no one can ask aloud.

  ---

  Act 3 – A New Direction

  ---

Raiken steps forward, extending his hand. A glowing hologram appears:

Two silver wings wrapping around a radiant core.

  “The Academy of Resonance.”

  The council leans in.

“After Class 10, every Kyra-positive teen will take the Pre-Selection Trial. Not everyone will enter the Academy. Only those ready in mind and will.”

“We can’t train power anymore. But we can guide resonance. Emotion. Control. Judgment.”

“Kyra isn’t just ability. It’s connection. And only those who understand that… will shape the future.”

Some nod. Some frown. But all listen.

  ---

Act 3 Final Scene – Still Breathing

  ---

A quiet hospital room. Machines hum softly. A boy sleeps.

Eyes closed. Skin pale. A monitor shows faint Kyra resonance — a wave barely alive, but not gone.

  A nurse whispers to another:

“He’s been like this for seven years. No response. No change. But… the Kyra signature hasn’t faded.”

  “It’s like he’s still… waiting.”

  Closing Scene – Villain Foreshadowing

A television flickers to life. A reporter’s voice echoes:

“The Academy of Resonance will begin selection next month. Trials to be held across all major cities—”

  Click.

  The screen turns off.

Two figures stand in the shadows of a tall building. The first leans against the glass, arms crossed, smile slow and cold.

  Unknown 1???:

  “Looks like they’re finally moving.”

  Unknown 2??? (grinning):

“Hope they’re ready for what’s coming.”

The first one’s eyes glow faintly — not with

fire, not with lightning… but something different. Something new.

  Unknown 1???:

“Let them build their pretty little academy. I’ll turn it into ash and memory.”
