Chapter 6: So timid, yet running out alone

Chapter 6: So timid, yet running out alone

"No." Jiang Ruoxi shook her head, had he figured something out?

"I gave you the opportunity to speak, if you don't say anything then that's it, but don't say I didn't give you the chance." Leng Yun said calmly as he sat down on the sofa beside him.

Jiang Ruoxi hesitated for a few seconds, "You seem to be very busy with work, can I go back home earlier?"

"Everything else is fine, but this one is off-limits." Leng Yun didn't even glance at her and directly refused.

I knew it would end up like this. Never mind, she can only resign herself to staying here until he's done and until he returns home.

Gu Shu sent someone to deliver dinner, but Jiang Ruoxi was in a huff and didn't eat a single bite, retreating into her bedroom alone.

He didn't force her, this woman was not only ignorant but also willful. She had agreed to spend their honeymoon in the United States, how could she return after less than a week? At least, he wanted to use this time to handle all the things that needed to be taken care of.

For over a week, Leng Yun spent most of his time at the company, occasionally making phone calls in the study or just sitting on the couch. Jiang Ruoxi was stuck in the hotel every day, mostly staying in her room in a daze, except for occasional trips to the coffee shop to play the piano.

In the afternoon tea time, Jiang Ruoxi sat in the cafe, took a sip of juice, her hands still propped up her chin, her eyes gazed out the window, full of melancholy and boredom. That despicable man didn't have any intention to return at all.

Looking at the sky still early, Jiang Ruo Xi's bright eyes glanced around, that usually followed her uncle was not there today, should be busy with something, suddenly stood up, picked up the handbag, and left the cafe.

Standing at the hotel entrance, after a while, a taxi stopped in front of her. Jiang Ruoxi hesitated for a moment before getting into the car.

When they arrived in the city, Jiang Ruoxi opened her purse and found that she didn't have much money on her, just enough to pay for the fare.

Got off the car, standing on a strange street, looking at the scenery that is different from domestic. Since I'm out, don't care about other things for now, strolling on the street, a sweet smile rose on my face.

In the city's park, couples were embracing and kissing intimately, but Jiang Ruo Xi felt somewhat unaccustomed to Americans' openness.

Walking along the riverbank road, blowing a slightly cool breeze, tired, sitting on a long chair beside.

The sky gradually darkened, and Jiang Ruo Xi began to worry. She took out the phone from her bag, only to find that it was out of battery. Moreover, she didn't even know his phone number.

A cold and stern face sat in the hotel's lobby, when a middle-aged man walked over, "Young master, we've searched the entire hotel, but couldn't find Madame."

"Keep searching!" Coldly and calmly, with a face that couldn't conceal his anger, "I left you to watch over Ruoxi, where did you go?"

He just went to the company for a meeting and when he came back, she was nowhere to be seen. She's here, but there's no one around who knows her, where could she have gone?

"Sorry, young master." Old Uncle bowed his head. He had only gone to make a phone call for the old master and didn't expect that Young Master's wife would be gone.

"Frowning coldly, 'Is saying sorry going to help? Hurry up and find someone! If you can't find her again and we miss the flight, I'll see how you explain it to me.'"

"Master, we've checked the surveillance footage and saw Madam getting into a taxi and leaving the hotel." The hotel manager came over and said nervously.

Leng Yun suddenly stood up and walked out of the hotel.

"Master!" The old man quickly followed up.

"You don't have to follow me, help me find out where Ruoxi took the taxi." With that, he drove off quickly.

The old master watched as the car drove out of sight, and only then did he wipe away a bead of sweat. It seemed that the young master still cared about his wife after all, and his return to China would also be a good explanation for the old master.

Jiang Ruoxi sat on the long bench by the river, looking at the neon lights that had just lit up. She pouted her small mouth, wondering how she was going to get back now? Not even walking back was an option, because she didn't know the way at all.

Jiang Ruoxi stood up, looking around, unable to distinguish east, south, west, and north. But she couldn't stay here all night, could she? He wouldn't be able to find her, would he come looking for her? He definitely wouldn't! They hadn't exchanged more than ten sentences in over a week, why would he worry about her?

She shook her head vigorously, trying not to think of him, and walked towards the other end. The cold wind by the river blew over, causing her to rub her arms vigorously, then blow on her palms, "It's really cold tonight."

Suddenly a car stopped beside her, "Beauty, are you alone? Do you want me to take you?" The window was rolled down, a black man with a flat head haircut, whistling and waving at her.

Jiang Ruoxi took a step back, hastily shaking her head. "No need, thank you!" she said as she quickly walked away.

Jiang Ruoxi had only taken two steps when her slender arm was caught, "Don't be like that! I'm driving, it's very convenient to send people." The man said with a smile, revealing a row of white teeth.

"It's not necessary! Let me go quickly!" Jiang Ruoxi struggled non-stop, but was grasped painfully by him.

"Let's go!" Jiang Ruoxue was pulled by the man to the front of the car, and before she could get in, a black Mercedes-Benz van stopped.

"Let her go!" he said coldly to the man, but his eyes were fixed on Jiang Ruoxi, whose eyes were welling up with tears and face was still etched with fear.

That black man looked at Leng Yun who had just gotten out of the car, his face full of anger, and let go of Jiang Ruoxi's hand. "Misunderstanding! Misunderstanding!" he said afterwards, then quickly got into the car and sped away.

Jiang Ruoxi looked at Leng Yun, he still came, did he come specifically to find her?

"What's wrong? Scared?" Leng Yun stepped forward and walked to her front, reaching out to stroke her black hair.

Jiang Ruoxi's eyes blinked, and two lines of tears slid down her cheeks.

"Why are you crying?" Leng Yun suddenly said in a soft voice.

"I thought you weren't going to come find me, I thought I was going to spend the night on the streets alone tonight, I thought..." Jiang Ruoxi choked out.

Leng Yun pulled her into his arms, "So timid, yet you still ran out here alone."

Jiang Ruoxi leaned against his chest, and after a long time, she finally raised her head, "I ran out alone, still because of you."

He gazed at her with narrowed eyes, "Is that so? I'm kind enough to save you now, and not only do you not thank me, but you also blame me."

Jiang Ruoxi struggled free from his arms, wiping away the tears on her cheeks. "How did you know I was here?"

"It doesn't matter, let's go!" Leng Yun opened the car door, "Please, Miss Jiang."

Jiang Ruoxi sat in the car and turned her head away, not looking at him, but instead gazing out the window at the rapidly passing scenery.

Leng Yun didn't say a word, he just focused on driving.

Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the hotel entrance. Jiang Ruoxi opened the door and got out of the car. Leng Yanzhen also got out of the car and followed Jiang Ruoxi. "I'll give you thirty minutes to pack your luggage, is that enough?"
