Chapter 2: Where Did the President's Wife's Dignity Go?
The warm sunlight in the morning poured into the room through the thin gauze curtains, Jiang Ruoxi opened her somewhat heavy eyelids, and her misty eyes scanned the entire large bedroom. There was no sign of him anymore. She sat up, rubbed her slightly aching forehead, it seemed that she had indeed drunk too much wine last night, and the aftermath of a hangover was a headache.
Getting out of bed and standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, stretching my arms and yawning, it's great to have a sunny day, I smiled slightly, with a faint smile on my face. Since we can't choose, then we should face the present well.
She then walked into the bathroom, washed up and looked at the closet where more than half of the clothes were women's wear, all this year's latest styles. However, the revealing clothes didn't suit her. Finally, Jiang Ruoxi chose a relatively conservative pink chiffon dress to change into, sat on the sofa, checked the time, it was only 9 o'clock in the morning. But in the US, she had no friends and didn't know the roads, with nowhere to go, so she could only sit bored and stare blankly, flipping through page after page of a financial magazine without reading a single word.
More than an hour later, Jiang Ruoxi went downstairs and walked into the hall, unknowingly circling to the hotel's leisure coffee shop. A black Steinway piano caught her eye. Just as she took two steps, the manager of the coffee shop saw her and immediately came up to greet her, "Young lady, do you need anything?" The manager asked with concern.
Jiang Ruoxi blinked, did he know her? Flat mouth, thinking about it, yesterday's grand wedding was held here, and this is a hotel under the Leng Group, so it's not surprising that he knows her.
But this is better. Jiang Ruo Xi's lips curled up into a smile.
"May I use the piano?" Jiang Ruoxi pointed at the piano and asked softly.
"Of course, madam. Please feel free to use it. And what would you like to drink or eat? Just let me know and I'll prepare it for you right away," said the manager with a smile.
Jiang Ruoxi shook her head, "No need, I just want to play the piano." As she spoke, she walked over to the piano, lifted the lid, and her slender white fingers slid across the keys. Then, her fingers moved on the black and white keys.
That Richard Clayderman's piano piece "Wedding in a Dream" has always been her favorite, and it is also the expectation that has been hidden in her heart all along. It's just that everything was just a dream of hers. Now that she woke up from the dream, everything returned to reality. Playing this piece over and over again surprisingly attracted quite some customers' attention.
A man in a black Armani suit walked in, and from afar, he saw the pink figure sitting at the piano. He had only gone out to take care of some things that morning, and when he returned to the hotel, he found that the person in his room was nowhere to be seen. If it weren't for the service staff telling him, he wouldn't have known she would run here.
The hotel manager saw Leng Yun standing there, "Young Master."
Leng Yun waved his hand, "You go ahead and busy yourself! Oh right, send a cup of coffee and a cup of milk over here." As he spoke, he walked towards Jiang Ruoxi with elegant strides.
Jiang Ruoxi, who was too focused on playing the piano, didn't notice Leng Yan standing behind her until she finished another piece. She noticed a figure and turned around to see Leng Yan staring at her intently, slightly stunned, without saying a word.
"What? Don't you recognize me?" Cold Yun lightly opened his thin lips, asking faintly. Seeing him, was it necessary to be so shocked? Just now he still had a faint smile on his face as he played the piano, but when facing him, it was like seeing a tiger for a rabbit, was he that frightening?
Jiang Ruoxi shook her head and stood up, "I just, I just didn't expect it."
"Is that so?" Cold and distant, he stretched out his long arm and pulled her into his embrace. "If you don't stay quietly in the room, what if you get lost?" Although it sounded like a concerned remark, but coming from him, Jiang Ruoxi heard a clear sarcastic tone.
"I'm not a kid, how can I get lost?" Jiang Ruoxi said proudly, if she wasn't afraid of getting lost, she would have gone out for a stroll long ago, and would still be wandering around the hotel aimlessly. Moreover, this hotel is huge, she estimated that even after walking around in circles several times, she would still get lost.
At first, wasn't the proposal to hold the wedding ceremony in her hometown of New York because you were afraid she would run away? Now, in an unfamiliar place like America, where can she go?
Leng Yun smiled and walked with her to a window seat, where the waiter immediately brought over a cup of coffee and a glass of milk.
"I want coffee!" Jiang Ruoxi pushed away the milk in front of her.
"What's with kids and coffee!" he said coldly.
Jiang Ruoxi glared at him, "I'm 20 years old." What's with treating her like a kid?
Leng Yun looked her up and down, "If you didn't say so, I would have thought you were a minor."
He's doing it on purpose, does he dare to marry her who is still underage? Although the two were forced to get married, she still has her own thoughts and won't listen to him just because she married him.
"I want a cup of coffee." Jiang Ruoxi said word by word to the waiter beside her.
The waiter next to him looked at Leng Yun with difficulty, while Leng Yun seemed like a bystander and didn't say a word.
"If you don't change, I'll fire you." Jiang Ruoxi suddenly blurted out this sentence.
The cold and handsome man who had just taken a sip of his coffee almost spat it out, this little woman really has the guts to start exercising her rights as the chairman's wife on their first day of marriage.
The waiter was stunned for a moment, "Yes, madam, I'll change it for you right away." He then quickly took away the milk.
Jiang Ruoxi looked at Leng Yun opposite her, her pale face slightly red, she lowered her eyelids and bowed her head.
Leng Yun looked at her and suddenly burst out laughing, "What's wrong? Where did the momentum of the chairman's wife just now go?"
"Mind your own business!" Jiang Ruo Xi stood up, just in time to bump into the waiter who had brought over her coffee, "Ma'am, your coffee."
"I won't drink anymore." He said, and then quickly ran out of the coffee shop.
At this time, Uncle Gui walked over, "Young Master."
"You go ahead and take care of your business! I'll go check on Ruoxi." Leng Yuen also stood up, revealing a charming smile as he followed Ruoxi's direction with elegant steps.
Only the waiter standing by and Gu Shu were left watching them leave.
Jiang Ruoxi walked in the garden, the cobblestone path felt comfortable under her feet, she gently stroked her chest, her heart beating faster, just now she must have been out of her mind to say such things, that damned man was just watching the show.
No way! She has to go back home! She has to go back home immediately! Whatever they said about having a wedding in the US and then spending their honeymoon here, it was all just a joint conspiracy to bully her when she's alone.
However, after walking around in circles, Jiang Ruo Xi still couldn't find the exit to return to her hotel room. She didn't dare pull over a service staff to ask, that would be too embarrassing.
"Why build such a big hotel when there's nothing to do?" she muttered to herself.
The more she thought about it, the more depressed Jiang Ruo Xi felt. She suddenly felt wronged and sat down on a long wooden chair under the eaves, her slender arm propped up her chin as she stared blankly at the fish swimming back and forth in the lake.
"I really envy you." She said softly to the fish in the lake, with a layer of mist in her eyes.
Leng Yun followed her out of the coffee shop and continued to follow her as she wandered around until she sat down on a bench, shaking her head in frustration, before he finally walked towards her.
"Tired of walking, go back to your room." A cold and distant voice came from above her head.
Jiang Ruoxi raised her head and looked at him with a pitiful expression.
"Aren't you going back? Then just sit here, I'll go back." After saying that, Leng Yun walked past her in the opposite direction.
"Wait a minute!" Jiang Ruoxi's pace couldn't keep up with his large strides, and she could only jog to catch up.
