After a lot of time leveling up, I was feeling pretty strong—so I figured it was finally time to actually dig myself out of the ditch I was stuck in. I started by lifting one of my smaller wheels and pcing rocks under it. Little by little, I was leveling out.
After about an hour or so, I saw smoke rising in the distance—maybe 3 or 4 kilometers away. It was starting to get dark, so I assumed it was probably some people camping out here.
I decided to get some rest. I’d been grinding levels for the past few days—I deserved it.
The next morning...
I kept digging myself out, gaining a few more levels along the way. After what felt like ages, I heard a noise in the distance. I stopped immediately and scanned the area.
Nothing in sight. Not even with my upgraded 100-meter vision.
I focused harder—listening closely, trying not to miss anything.
Wait... is that people talking?
The voices were getting louder. After a few minutes, I saw a group of folks walking toward the clearing in the forest where I was stuck. Looked like a group of adventurers—probably out on a quest or something.
Unluckily for me, they were headed in my direction.
Eventually, they entered the small clearing, arguing over some kind of map they were following. Then one of them looked up and spotted me—a bright orange locomotive just... chilling there.
Person 1: “Uh... guys? What’s that?”Person 2: “What?... Oh.”Person 3: “It looks like it’s made of metal.”
I decided to stay quiet for now. No need to cause a scene.
Person 1: “Let’s figure out where we are first.”Person 2: “Yeah, agreed.”Person 3: “I’m gonna investigate this thing further.”
The guy came closer. He looked to be male. After inspecting me for a bit, he started messing with my coupler.
And then—he kicked me?Dude. Seriously?
I activated Telepathy and calmly said:“Can you not do that?”
He immediately freaked out, jumping back and drawing his sword.
Person 3: “HELLO!? Where are you?! And what is this lump of metal?!”
I just stayed quiet again, but inside I was ughing. This was gonna be interesting.
