Meanwhile, as the plane of mortals continues their lives normally.
In the realm of Hell lies all the precedent sinners wailing for retributions to all of the things they have done. The scorching heat of the surroundings; lava flowing in a river state.
The souls of the damned are resting there, continuously screaming and agonizing their damnation through the eternal flame. The thunders endlessly rumbling; feature of precipice from the tallest mountains viewed up from above.
From there are the new souls who died and now paying for their sins, as the ghouls of Hell itself gnaws their limbs if they don’t jump off towards the river of lava.
Apart from the distance where the damned are punished relies a fortress. A big wall no one can penetrate through. And over there is a tall, brick castle. From the inside are the servants and confidants, as well as the legion of the master of this realm.
From there, a throne mounted atop of a thousand staircase. Mounted there is the King of Hell, Lucifer.
Since the old times, he has been known as the prince of darkness, the devil, and the one who brings the harbinger of death. Associated with him is his wife, the queen of hell, Astarte.
It has been thousand years since he got on this realm, his legion expands further and further. Now, he thinks that the realm of this place isn’t good enough to stay, so now he’s thinking of ruling the mortal plane.
Yet, how?
To his idea, there are demons who are wandering right now; causing wreck havoc from the mortal plane and gives them the power to do something horrible. They are causing the fear of mankind doing horrendous things.
And as he watches them, his lips carved a sinister smile. “I think it would be a good idea to get the mortal plane as the new Hell for our legions. We should take over their world and become our new grounds.”
Since the mankind exist, there have been some wrecking havoc comes through when ideas won’t correlate to each other. Conflicts arise, and annihilating everything that opposes them.
The nature of mortals can easily be manipulated by their instincts to do something horrid on others, causing them to find pleasure and happiness on their doing.
That’s what Lucifer is aiming for.
And now, he think it’s time to do worse than what’s happening right now. Onto the deepest dungeons of his castle are the ghastly legions who fall together with him. They’ve been imprisoned for a long time.
He thinks its time now, to unleash the legion and rule the mortal plane.
“I am not in favor for what you want to happen.”
One time, at the throne court, his daughter and the princess next in throne, Hecate, refused to claim the mortal plane. “It’s not yet the right time; there still some people who are living accordingly.”
She protest against her father’s will to conquer the mortals. Hecate has been born a thousand years after the reign of Hell. A thousand years passed, and from there she sees all the damned souls crying for retribution from their deeds done when they’re still alive.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
She has seen their regret, their despair, their agony. Watching those souls condemn, and punish eternally gave her feelings to get over the side of the mortals. A demon, having a feeling of conscience to annihilate humanity… that made Lucifer think that her daughter is going absurd.
If this proceeds any longer, she might get an alliance to the Seven Mortal sins and rebel against him. So Lucifer, to avoid her daughter getting retaliate over his plans, decided for her to exile in Hell.
Hecate after knowing the plans of his father, refute; she retaliates over the King’s resolute order. She won’t approve of her father’s plans to get through the mortal plane.
Yet, as the King’s orders… for her to exile, the soldiers locked her up and breaks her horns, losing her powers and ability she can use to fight against him. On that day, Hecate exiled from the Kingdom and throw up in the mortal realm with her scythe, the Mortifer.
Since she wouldn’t be able to fight in her current state, Lucifer thought that it would be better for her to give the weapon she chose to wield.
At that day, Hecate find herself mingling and living with the mortals. She’s now living an ordinary life, passing each years to blend in the society; living on a daily basis by working.
But as the time passed, her feelings didn’t falter to her father’s ambition. She still believes, though there are some horrible things happened from time to time, that mortals can do something good.
However, that have yield yet to her own thoughts to the mankind itself.
One time, as soon as she opens the apartment she’s renting; a familiar feeling engulfed through her as the dark corner of the room, a demon from Hell appears before her.
“Hello, Princess.” the demon greeted her with a smile. “I believe you can still remember me?” Her tone is sweet, yet produces the poisonous monologue. Any human hearing that voice can entice under their spell.
“How should I forget? You’re the one who broke my horns, the shape-shifter and gatekeeper, Mephistopheles.”
Hecate, replied with full contempt on her voice. She still feels the phantom pain of losing her powers. Mephistopheles grins, at the darkness of the room, her smile shown thoroughly; snaring with sinister.
“Let’s set aside our past this time, since I am here to introduce you on something.” she rebutted. Her legs crossed while sitting on her bed. “Something you will be agreed upon.”
“Speak.” Hecate muttered, scowling.
Mephistopheles grins wider. “The king himself, requested this for you.” she stated and composed herself. “Let my princess, the daughter of the king of Hell, persecutes the legion I’m spreading out. Should she apprehend all of them, she can go back here in Hell and I will not annihilate the mankind.”
A promising proposal, yet her smile filled with viciousness while glaring at the princess. “That is… if she can make it.” Mephistopheles’s words nurtured down completely on Hecate.
Knowing that the princess is powerless now, and unable to wield her weapon because of her broken horns. This is a tough proposal. Demons are manipulative in nature; they can make or break someone to their words.
Hecate isn’t an exception on this as well. “Now, my princess? How should you—”
“I will do what my father, the King himself proposed. And persecuted the legions of his on this world.”
Before even Mephistopheles continue his words, Hecate declared. Her words are firm and full of conviction. “What my father’s plan to make this world is a horrible thing, and I’ll be the one who will stop him.”
Mephistopheles looks at the princess. Her eyes are filled with resolve to the task her father gave. “In order for me to go back home; to Hell, to my kingdom, and to my people.”
She has known Hecate for a thousand years now. And the conviction she has as a leader-to-be of the underworld. Seeing her unbent conviction, she let off a soft and sinister cackle.
“Impressive thoughts, milady.”
“What’s so funny?” Hecate rebutted, her voice still steadying with hostility.
“Now, now…” Mephistopheles stands up from her bed and rummage under her robe. She then grabs a pendant. “Here. Take this with you and find the man who can’t smile.”
Her hand stretched and gives it to the princess. “The man who can’t smile will help you find the legion. Because only he can see the sinister of this world, and once he smiles, you can retrieve your powers.”
Hecate grabbed the pendant and hold it in her hand. The pendant carved in gold and skull shaped. “You will recognize him when the eyes glow red brightly, and you can smell the foul odor of his soul.”
“And how can I find him?” Hecate asked. Mephistopheles grins wider after hearing the question of the girl.
“You still have your instinct as a demon, milady. Use it, and you can find him. He’s just nearby; and I’m rooting for your endeavors. Goodbye.”
With those last and parting words, Mephistopheles vanishes completely out of sight. Hecate just remains as the light turns on. Still holding the pendant the demon gave to her, she heaves a sigh.
“I guess I should start moving now. To find the person who can help me on this mission.”
