87 - A Hunters Reward Hats, Belts, and Tips

After a good night's rest at the tavern, Stephen got up early the next morning.

He went downstairs for a quick bite and watched Garland bustling around the place.

The young man was full of energy today, grabbing all sorts of things, saying he wanted to remodel the tavern according to his own ideas.

Stephen just patted him on the shoulder, said a few words of encouragement, and went out.

Garland's enthusiasm made Stephen feel full of power himself.

He took his things and walked out of the tavern, heading straight for Welen Ike's Kodak shop.

"Oh... long time no see, brave bounty hunter."

As soon as he entered, Welen Ike greeted Stephen with his dramatic voice.

"Looks like you've brought me good news today."

He widened his eyes, looking at the camera in Stephen's hand, looking impatient.

Stephen smiled and took out all the film and placed it in his hand. "There are a lot of photos, it'll probably keep you busy for a while."

"Oh... it's my pleasure." Welen Ike said excitedly, "I wonder what photos representing evil you've brought me?"

  *There's a lot of that.*

Stephen sat elegantly on the sofa, and Welen Ike promptly brought him a cup of hot coffee.

After slowly taking a sip of the steaming coffee, Stephen slowly introduced the origins of these photos one by one.

Listening to Stephen's introduction, Welen Ike let out exclamations from time to time.

"Oh... my God, that's so thrilling."

Welen Ike wiped the sweat from his forehead, looking amazed, "I swear, this is the most correct commission I've ever posted in my life."

"If your price satisfies me, I'll have more photos in the future."

Stephen said with a smile, "You know, it's not easy to take these photos."

  "Oh... of course."

Welen Ike hurriedly stood up and made a wait gesture to Stephen. "Please wait, Mr. Johnson, I'll go get the reward you deserve."

Welen Ike hurriedly walked to the back room, while Stephen, holding his coffee, leisurely looked at the photos in the shop.

As a Kodak shop, there are naturally many photos here: landscapes, people, and some strange things.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

There are so many kinds of photos in this place. Stephen savored these photos with relish, feeling that they were quite interesting.

"Mr. Johnson, I have prepared generous gifts for you."

Just as Stephen was wondering, Welen Ike came out carrying large and small packages.

Stephen hurriedly stepped forward to take the things from his hands. Looking at Welen Ike's embarrassed look, Stephen asked curiously.

  "What are these things?"

Stephen looked curiously at the things in front of him, then opened one of the packages and looked at it.

It turned out to be a nice hat.

This is a simple-looking cowboy hat, pure black, and it's hard to tell what it's made of.

But Stephen could see that this thing was very well made.

"This hat is from France, sent to me by a friend of mine. I heard that the shop that made this hat has been open for hundreds of years."

Welen Ike said somewhat exaggeratedly, "Of course, I always thought this guy was bragging. But that doesn't prevent it from being a good hat."

That's not an exaggeration. Stephen grabbed the hat and put it on his head. It really fit.

"And this belt was also sent by my friend."

Welen Ike took out a very gorgeous-looking belt and held it to Stephen's waist for a moment.

"It's made of high-quality leather, and the belt buckle is inlaid with gold thread. I think it looks very beautiful on you."

The belt has very complex patterns. Stephen took a closer look and saw that angels and demons were carved on it.

And the belt buckle has some complex patterns, which are filled with golden lines, making it look extremely gorgeous.

"Oh... and these latest film rolls."

Welen Ike picked up another small box, opened it and saw it was full of film rolls, enough for Stephen to use for a long time.

"I think these things should be enough to pay your reward." Welen Ike said with a smile.

Stephen looked at the hat and belt in front of him, and nodded with satisfaction. "Very good, I'm very satisfied."

These things are exquisitely made and belong to the kind that can't be bought with money. Stephen is very satisfied.

The two chatted for a while, and Stephen happily took the things and walked out of the Kodak shop.

Not long after walking out of the Kodak shop, Stephen met a familiar person.

"Hey, Mr. Trelawny, what are you doing here?"

Stephen shouted at Trelawny, who was hurrying across the street.

  "Mr. Johnson? Aren't you..."

Trelawny looked at Stephen in surprise. He looked around, then leaned close to Stephen and whispered, "Did you guys get the boats?"

Stephen nodded. "Charles has already taken the boat back."

He pointed to his shoulder and said helplessly, "I'm a little injured, so Arthur and the others have to figure out the rest."

  "That's a pity."

Trelawny said somewhat ostentatiously, "I heard that they have decided to send Sean away tomorrow morning."

"So they bought a lot of alcohol and food to celebrate tonight. I think this is a good opportunity."

Stephen nodded. "That's right, this is a good opportunity. Arthur and the others need to prepare early."

"That's right, I'm going back to inform them."

Trelawny said with a smile, "I think some of them should be getting impatient."

Stephen took out a cigarette from his bag and gave one to Trelawny. This guy gave a very exaggerated bow, which made Stephen feel weird.

The two lit their cigarettes and stood by the roadside, smoking and chatting.

"By the way, do you know where they bought the alcohol and food?" Stephen asked curiously.

"What, do you have any ideas?"

Trelawny asked in surprise, "I advise you to give up that idea. As far as I know, those Pinkertons are guarding them very strictly, especially during this special period."

Stephen really wanted to start with the food and drinks to help Arthur and the others again.

After all, if all the guards get upset stomachs, Arthur and the others will be able to act more smoothly.

But since Trelawny said so, he gave up the idea. He didn't want to get a wanted poster so easily.

To be honest, the reason he withdrew from the operation early this time because of his injury was partly due to this reason.

Whether it's for him or for the gang, the things he, as a bounty hunter with a clean record, can do are more than what Stephen, a wanted criminal, can do.
