Forgotten until remembered

We sit side by side and there’s a flood of things I want to say but before the flood gates open you tilt your head in my direction and look at me as one would something that lacks experience. Something unworthy to even keep your attention. Something obsolete, thought of once as something of importance but it no longer is so.

How can you scrape me with just a glance? Draw blades against my skin, tearing flesh and revealing all that was within me with just a glance?

I master courage, my fore fathers flung themselves off slave ships, screaming that it is better to die free than in bondage. The courage to venture beyond what the physical plane offers you runs within my veins, it pumps from my heart and I master the words that would renew me before your sight.

But before I speak I take in your lips, stretched tout across your face. There, in the crease wrinkling your brow I see irritation. Just mild irritation, something I can circumnavigate, something I can work to counter without much strain. But then you turn your face away from me and your locks of hair dance with the sway of your neck and I see then that I have been judged by you and found unworthy.

I open my mouth and utter only a sound, and with it your attention is drawn back to me but then there’s this pained expression that I know mires my features. For you regard me, not with the love and affection I believed to be a part of us but with hate. You hate me and the hate is a flood above my gentle stream, it’s a roaring furnace to my candle light. And it kills all that I wished to portray and I find myself retreating into silence where I know I will not draw your ire for I shall be as the dead to the living. Forgotten until remembered.

Okay Movies! And series! And Anime! Basically anything we watch for fun save porn. It’s been a harrowing time for me movies wise. I used to have a tablet that I carried around in a bag and I used it mostly to watch movies but it was stolen and for about three months I existed without a means of communication because I used the tablet like a phone.

I grew a beard, started walking around with sandals and a walking stick. Basically I became a hermit, a flea bitten hermit since I’d pat stray dogs. But I got a phone and I shaved and changed my ways and now I’ll delve into the movies I’ve watched (By movies I also mean series and anime.)

We’ll start with Deadpool VS Wolverine. It was the first time I saw Hugh Jackman wear the Wolverine suit and it was freaking epic to have Deadpool do live commentary before and during much anticipated fight scenes. I love Deadpool so much, Ryan Reynolds is the Marvel Jesus as he claims to be time and time again. Overall I enjoyed the film though it took me a while to understand that Deadpool had raised his ex from the dead using Cable’s time traveling thingy from Deadpool 2. That’s why she’s alive in Deadpool 3.

I also decided to delve deep into the past, all the way to 2002 where I watched a movie called Adaptation starring Nicholas Cage. I just like doing this sometimes, if I get good Wi-Fi I rarely watch movies from the past decade. I like going way back the late 1900s and early 2000s, there’s always some wonderful gems back there. In Adaptation, Nicholas Cage is a script writer who wants to write a movie based on a book about flowers and he is stuck because that’s very hard to do. It’s a very hilarious movie and it turns serious very fast especially towards the end. The movie enabled me to appreciate Nicholas Cage’s range in that he plays the script writer and his twin brother who also wants to be a script writer. It was a long time since I enjoyed a movie that much.

In Anime, I finally caught up with Demon Slayer. If a woman kisses me and rubs her naked body upon me and asks me what my favorite Anime is I’ll whisper, “Jujitsu Kaisen” seductively. If she takes a knife and puts it to my balls and tells me to confess what my favorite actual Anime is. I’ll quickly say. “Attack on Titan!” But if she takes out a gun and places it to my head and forces me to confess. I think I’ll say it’s Demon slayer.

To be honest, I love everything about Demon slayer. Don’t get me wrong, the other Animes are top notch but Demon Slayer has this touch of desperation to it, sure attack on titan has it too but in that one it’s men VS giants. In demon slayer the size issue isn’t a big deal so you can really appreciate the combat scenes. Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu have come a long way and the ending to the Hashira training arc was amazing! The Hashira finally met Muzan (The main villain) and he has teleported everyone into the Infinity castle. Everyone! I hear the Infinity Castle arc will be a trilogy of movies and I know it’s the best arc of all the Demon slayer arcs… So it’s going to be a blast. Can’t wait to see Zenitsu take down an Upper rank demon. Shit, just writing about this makes me giddy with excitement.

Solo Leveling came out. But sadly I was not that impressed by it. Sure the fight scenes were well animated but I find I enjoyed Kaiju No. 9 more than Solo Leveling but it was only the first season so maybe the next season will be better?

Back to films of flesh. I finally got around to watching From. There has been a lot of hype regarding this series, one person even swore that the series might be better than breaking bad. I watched the show but didn’t know what impressed the guy, it certainly isn’t even close to breaking bad. Even The Sopranos is a better show than From. The plot unwinds fast at first which is neat but then it starts dragging half way through and the sense of mystery becomes obviously written to take advantage of those who are easily impressed. There are some minor inconsistencies like the boy who had a wooden stake pass through his leg and can suddenly walk okay the next day. It’s just shoddy work to be honest, I was not impressed.

I watched Isle of Dogs again, which was once my favorite animation of all time but now after watching it again I feel I sort of over hyped it there a little. But I still enjoyed it, I really like stop motion animation.

The Jack Reacher series was decent. Not awe inspiring but decent. The Gorge was good, not awe inspiring either but I really like Anya Taylor and Miles Teller and both of them star in the film so that’s a win I guess, for cinema.

And that’s about it when it comes to movies. Be sure to suggest to me things you might have enjoyed and who knows? It might end up in the next film review.
