  Niko told me he's been taking logs to sort out his thoughts, and I figure I might as well do the same.

  We drove for an hour and seventeen minutes. I feel better having some distance between us and Astor.

  The tire tracks had been snowed over by the time we got back to the car, so we just drove straight, away from the city. Niko asked what direction. I decided to drive straight til we hit some sort of useful ndmark. That's all I have.

  Niko pesters me with the silliest questions. It's surprisingly helpful. He's keeping me focused on the simple things. The obvious. Why I was unconscious. (I still don't have the memory of the actual events) Why I have cyborg parts. (I told him I wanted to see if I could and he told me that was crazy. I told him I get that a lot) Where we're going. (Anywhere I say.) What's going on with his eyes (apparently st he remembered he didn't have *any* CybAugs)

  He says he doesn't have any more idea what is going on than I do. I'm not sure if I believe him. He asks if I know why we can't remember anything, and I have no answer for him.

  We've stopped to eat. He heard my stomach grumbling. We need to preserve rations. But I have no idea when we ate st. It must have been a long time. We ate Sodi noodles half-hard, neither of us having patience to let them sit. I chose to sacrifice a bit of fuel from one of the canisters to make hot food. We both needed to warm up. And we were able to shut off the heat in the car. We can't afford to burn through all of our batteries.

  Niko is fascinating. This is what I have based on what little I remember and what we've spoken about since we woke up.
