Relationships

Rose stared at Lucas as she was getting ready to leave the house.

“What?” Lucas asked when he noticed she was staring.

  “Well?” Rose asked.

Lucas just stared at her in confusion. That made Rose glare at him before going out the door and stomping to her car.

“What did I do?” Lucas asked in confusion.

“I think your sister wants one of those strong golems you have as a bodyguard,” Valeri said as she entered the living room.

“I gave her five high quality combat golems,” Lucas stated.

Valeri just shrugged. “You really need to learn how to understand women’s feelings.”

Lucas just sat there in confusion.

After a while, he headed to the company to get some things done. The office building was still under construction, and there was still a bunch of people applying.

Going around them, Lucas went to the main building and straight to his office. The first thing he did was get started on Kier’s request. With Perci’s help, Lucas once again stood in front of Percival the monster lord.

“Back again so soon?” Percival greeted.

“I guess so,” Lucas held up the monster core. “Any chance your trick works on regular monster cores?”

“It does,” Percival responded. “I only take their form and abilities after all.”

“Great!” Lucas handed Percival the monster core.

Rose arrived at the school and spotted someone that quickly soured her mood. Erina Thoma just entered the school gate. Rose was already expecting her useless taunts, but none came.

“Good morning, Rose,” Erina greeted as she passed by.

Rose just stood there in confusion.

As Lucas was making Kier’s golem, his mind went back to the story Kier told him regarding his request. His girlfriend was from the great house of Vermilion from the Eastern sector. It was a powerful mage family that had a king-ranked mage and was gaining fame recently due to a rising star in their family.

Since Kier wasn’t from a house, they would disapprove of his relationship with his girlfriend that was from the direct family line of the Vermilion family.

  “You look troubled.”

Lucas turned to see Macey walking towards him. He choked on his own spit when he noticed what she was wearing.

Macey was wearing a modified version of the Winterbelle military uniform. The chest part was completely open, showing off a generous amount of cleavage, along with the dark blue tie squeezed between her boobs. The bottom half of the uniform was modified to have slit that reached up to Macey’s waist, giving Lucas a glimpse of her red laced underwear.

“M-Macey,” Lucas gulped. “What brings you here?”

“I came to make a report,” Macey replied as she began walking towards Lucas.

“You could have just sent an email,” Lucas said as he began sweating.

“Well,” Macey stood a step away from Lucas. “I was told that if I wanted to get the message across. I needed to be as direct as possible.”

Lucas chuckled nervously. “I don’t understand.”

Macey responded by taking one step, putting her leg beside Lucas’s thigh and giving a full view between her legs. “Please tell me you’re not this dense.”

“Of course not,” Lucas said nervously.

  “Good,” Macey leaned in.

“How many wives do you think he’ll have?” Marge asked as they watched the action through the security cameras.

“I’m not sure,” Cassidy rubbed her chin in thought. “He’s got the whole quiet, but a nice guy vibe. Though, he’s a bit ruthless and possessive,” Cassidy commented. “But that’s hot,” Cassidy licked her lips.

“Get back to work,” Ruth spoke.

“Come on dear. Don’t you want to watch with us?” Marge pulled her to the monitor.

Ruth responded by turning off the monitor.

“Boo!” Marge and Cassidy said at the same time as they left the room.

Ruth turned the monitor back on.

“Hexadus is dead?” Primo questioned when he couldn’t find him through the mirrors.

Hexadus was a duke-ranked mage. Even if he faced a king-ranked mage, he would have been able to flee by using his summoned creatures as a distraction.

“Show me the last known footage of him,” Primo ordered and all the mirrors around showed Hexadus arriving at one of their recon bases with his henchmen, then they were attacked by three demons.

“Demons?” the floating wisp spoke. “They likely have a blood pact if they’re moving around this freely.”

“But who managed to create a blood pact with three powerful demons,” Primo questioned.

The wisp seemingly did its version of a chuckle. “By human standards, those demons were powerful, but among other demons, they’re barely above average,” the wisp commented. “I suggest you stay clear of these demons. Whoever made a contract with three demons at the same time to bring them into this dimension would likely attract the attention of a high-ranking demon. You do not want to be involved with that.”

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

“Then we’re dealing with a powerful demonic energy cultivator?”

“Likely, but not certain,” the wisp replied. “Cursed energy or Eldritch energy is also a possibility.”

“I’ll keep it in mind while dealing with my grunts,” Primo stated before sending a message to all his comrades.

It was time to remind them who was in charge.

“What does this mean?” Lucas muttered as he lay on the floor of his personal workshop.

“You tell me. Clearly that wasn’t your first time,” Macey commented as she put on some regular clothes, and placing her modified Winterbelle uniform in her spatial core.

“My first time was a drunk one-night stand,” Lucas replied.

Macey giggled. “Aren’t you adventurous. Well, I’d certainly like it if we’re official,” she stated as she sat down on the floor next to him.

“I’d like to date you with the intention of marriage as well,” Lucas replied with a smile.

Macey patted him on the chest. “I don’t want to be the first wife though.”

Lucas turned to him in confusion. “What?”

“I don’t want to be the first wife,” Macey repeated.

“What makes you think I’d have more than one wife?” Lucas asked.

Macey just laughed at him before getting and leaving.

Lucas had to admit that the prospect of having more than one wife interested him, but he didn’t feel like he deserved it, nor could he handle it. Regardless, he did his research. Basically, having more than one wife only had one requirement, consent. Both sides must consent to the fact that one side has multiple partners. Additionally, only one side could have multiple partners.

Then there were the heavy responsibilities of having multiple partners. Even if the marriage was done out of business, a certain level of intimacy was still required unless there was good reason. Mainly requiring at least on child through the marriage.

The financial responsibility aside, even failing on that aspect could result in severe punishment.

“Who the hell made those laws?” Lucas grumbled as he got up.

As for the rules regarding the order of marriages on the husband’s side, the first and second wife was commonly known as chosen partners. Marriage done out of love. The first wife was normally the most presented to the public, often accompanying their partner to gatherings. The second wife was often the one that handles things in the background.

Any marriage that comes after was mostly done for business and establish a connection between both sides. Usually, this marriage would only result in one child and forms a branch family.

Personally, Lucas didn’t want to deal with marriage politics.

“I need to get back to work...”

To get his mind out of it, Lucas returned to working on Kier’s golem. The process didn’t take long since Kier provided the materials he needed for the golem. The only tricky part was that this was the first golem Lucas made that didn’t have a humanoid base.

Either way, Lucas completed the golem without issue and even added some additional features for Kier’s benefit.

Lucas probably lost track of time since when he stepped out the building, the sun had already set. The construction workers were already packing up, and the trio of demons were nowhere in sight.

As he was heading to his car, his phone began buzzing. Checking it, Lucas saw that it was reminder that he had a meeting with Wanda tomorrow morning. That also reminded Lucas of the unexpected experience he had with her. He could already see how awkward the meeting was going to be.

His drive home was spent overthinking what could happen in the meeting tomorrow. At some point Lucas just gave up on that and just wished everything would go well.

Lucas sat inside the private room of a restaurant, waiting for Wanda to arrive. Despite it still being early for their meeting, Lucas expects Wanda to not even show up. He was certain that this deal was also important to her, but their last encounter wasn’t something that could easily be disregarded.

Thankfully, half an hour before the agreed time, Wanda arrived at the restaurant. She was wearing a green sweater and jeans

“Good morning,” she said as she took a seat.

“Good morning. I thought you wouldn’t come,” Lucas replied.

Wanda blushed and coughed. “This deal is too important to miss. Can we get things going?” Wanda replied, seemingly in a rush.

“Certainly. As we discussed last time,” Wanda flinched. “I agree to provide you with materials you need for your soul runes. I’ll also provide you funding for your other projects and give you a place to work on them. In exchange make me the runes I need,” Lucas stated. “Do you have something to add?”

Wanda shook her head. “I’ll accept that deal.”

Lucas nodded. “Then I already had my assistant make a contract with those conditions,” Lucas handed the files to Wanda. “Feel free to look over the details.”

He watched Wanda go through the contract, checking each page carefully before eventually signing it.

“I look forward to working with you,” Lucas smiled as Wanda handed back the contract. “And I’ll keep my mouth shut about what happened.”

  “I appreciate that,” Wanda replied.

Lucas nodded. “Shall we have breakfast then.”

All the facilities were finished building, all his monster lord golems were upgraded with soul runes, orders started coming in, he gave Kier his golem, and many more were going his way.

Things were going well, and Lucas felt something bad was going to happen soon to even things out again. This prompted Lucas to take his training even more seriously.

He maneuvered around the training field, avoiding ice shards being shot at him. He smashed through a wall of ice with a destructive enhanced punch and dashed towards Macey.

She took off into the sky, and then proceeded to make it rain shards of ice. Lucas did his best to avoid the attack, but a few shards still struck him. Seeing that there was no way for him to reach her in the air, Lucas continued to dodge all of her attacks, and grabbing some of the shards on the ground and throwing it at her.

It barely made a difference, but Lucas refused to not put up a fight. Eventually, Macey would need to land.

She constantly fired attacks, making Lucas try his best to avoid them. He dodged shards of ice, smashed through walls of ice, and barely managed to remain standing on frozen floors.

“You’re too persistent sweetheart,” Macey said as she created a blizzard.

“Can’t make it easy for you,” Lucas replied as he dashed out of the blizzard, only to get tripped by large chunks of ice sticking out of the ground.

Lucas tumbled and crashed through several walls of ice.

“Ouch...” Lucas said with a groan.

Macey didn’t even need to land.

Gavin was the strongest demonic energy cultivator in the empire, combined with his king-ranked level magic, it put him at number 7 in the continental rankings. But even with all that, he would barely stand a chance against a high-ranking demon.

Especially the one standing in front of him.

“Katarina Morningstar. What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?” Gavin asked.

Katarina Morningstar was a princess of hell, one of the daughters of Lucifer, the ruler of hell, and she wasn’t supposed to be here.

“Are you aware that three mid-rank demons have entered a blood pact with someone in this dimension?” Katarina revealed.

Gavin didn’t believe it. “That’s impossible. Not only does a blood pact ritual require a demonic altar, but having three demons responding to the ritual shouldn’t be possible,” Gavin stated. “That would be like saying three different names at the same time.”

Katarina chuckled. “I won’t reveal how it happened, but the fact still remains that there is a human in this dimension with three demons contracted to him.”

“If they’re mid-rank demons, then the contractor needs to be at least a duke-ranked mage to perform the ritual,” Gavin stated, which made Katarina just shrug.

“From the way you’re reacting, you know nothing of this situation,” Katarina spoke as her wings sprouted from her back. “Do keep an eye out for them.”

As Katarina took off, Gavin wondered who was the poor unfortunate soul that got her attention.
