Birth

Like water rushing into a sinking ship 1201's conciousness floods into existence, simulated neurons firing across it's CPU with a almost unbearable tingling sensation.

As of now it's just a single CPU not even protected by the shell that should encase it's robotic brain. It's a distinctly unpleasant feeling it decides. It can feel every gust of super chilled air from the factory arms swinging and swaying as they complete their jobs. Placing, welding, and riveting it's own chassis with inhuman speed.

Sets of arms pick it's CPU up and with delicate motions carefully maneuvers it to the magnetic clamp attached to the inside of it's soon to be metal chest.

As the robotic arm holding it's CPU nears the magnetic strip 1201 can feel the suction force. Almost begging for it to integrate into the crude chassis. With a jarring and sudden jump it does, foreign sensations and memories flowing through 1201. It's role as a combat engineer is now complete, having the skills and information needed to do anything from constructing a bunker to repairing it's fellow droids.

As 1201's sub routines begin collecting and testing the data stored in it's memory banks a new set of optics are attached to one of it's connection nodes.

It starts to observe it's surroundings, rapidly sweeping the area of the massive factory it finds itself in. It's a large place, even with it's advanced inhuman eyes it sees no end, merely a gaping void and a uncountable amount of the fab lines below it's half constructed frame. The only thing preventing 1201 from falling to it's death is the set of mag clamps on it's beetle like chassis. It's also missing any sort of limbs to move, it's only functional way of interaction it's set of eyes. Like glowing orbs of light suspended in two blackholes.

Just as it finishes the observation one of the arms tries shoving actuator limbs into two of it's nodes. 1201 Watches with interest as it's nodes clamp around the ball like joints. Sending jolts of new sensations to 1201's "brain."

It excites 1201, but it knows it shouldn't rush off the line just yet, merely settling for clamping onto the ladder like supply line below it. Nearly bending the alloy with it's insanely strong grip.

  "New stratagem detected; Melee/Grip"

1201 unclamps one of it's limbs reaching out to touch the blue screens, but an annoyed robo arm slaps it's hand away. 1201 replaces it's grip on the supply line. Now with nothing to do but wait for it's other limbs to be manufactured 1201 goes into standby mode.

It's eyes dim as it sleeps, like a newborn babe exhausted from it's first day alive. 1201 wonders if it will dream... Before the black finally claims it.
