(Fixed) Chapter 5: Mana Core

[Temporary Stats will officially become Host's Stats!!!]

[The Secondary Stat "Regeneration" due to the influence of the Extra Stat "Alteration" (SS+) has been added by 40 stat units]

== [Review: it can seriously affect the World!] ==

== [Initiate the debugging process immediately!] ==

== [The bug has been completely annihited!] ==

‘So it will delete all the bugs and glitches it sees?’

  I sigh.

  "Whatever."

I pull the [Seven-Year Ginseng] root from my pocket, examining it briefly.

‘Since coming to this world, I've eaten so many strange things and still can't get used to it.’

"I don't know what it will taste like."

I pop it into my mouth and immediately grimace.

  Wow, that's bad.

The bitter taste overwhelms me—I should have cooked it first. Definitely will next time. The disgust is so strong I nearly vomit, but I force myself to swallow. Wasting it would defeat the purpose.

The bitterness lingers, sending goosebumps across my skin, but I can already feel strength flowing through my body.

  "Status Bar."

  [Mana: 35 (D)] (!)

  ‘Let's go!’

Many would wonder why I didn't get an A+ like the [Limit Break] in the description. I tap the [Mana] line on my status panel.

  The dispy expands, revealing:

  [Mana: 70 (A+) +0 (Null).]

With both equation factors equally important, the formu is simple:

  [Mana: ("Absorb" + "Store")/2.]

Even though I can't store it in my body yet, it doesn't matter. I can use Mana now! Being able to absorb and utilize Mana is already a massive victory.

I can finally access the [Hidden] and [Retractable] functions of my [Hidden Mask] and [Formless Bow].

Compared to the main characters' [Potential Limit], rank D is nothing—most of them have S-rank Mana or higher. But their overall stats are currently around rank E.

All the main characters were born with silver spoons, some with golden ones like the two princesses. They have countless buffs while I have almost nothing.

My only resources are game information and glitches. At least financial and social problems are easily fixed.

  Sigh.

It's depressing when I think about it too much.

  "Status Bar."

  ----------

  -Main Stats (!)

  Strength: 12.25 (F-) → 6 (Unranked) (!)

  Endurance: 11 (F-) → 6 (Unranked) (!)

  Agility: 11.5 (F-) → 6 (Unranked) (!)

  Perception: 15.3 (F) → 6 (Unranked) (!)

  -Secondary Stats (!)

  Charisma: 10 → 1 (Unranked) (!)

  Regeneration: 10.15 (F-) → 41 (C-) (!)

  Intelligence: 18.8 (F+) → 1 (Unranked) (!)

  ----------

All my stats have reset to 1, except [Main Stats] which gained +5 from the [Seven-Year Ginseng]. Since I was at such a low rank, the ginseng achieved maximum effectiveness.

I'm particurly proud that my new Extra Stat significantly boosted my [Regeneration].

  ----------

  Extra Stats (New!)

  Alteration: 90 (SS+)

  ----------

  I tap for more details.

[Alteration: the ability to get used to or adapt to changes in environment and circumstances.]

I didn't need to train or eat ginseng to increase stats because of a bug requiring specific conditions: having maximum 100 stats and eating the remaining leaf after tearing a four-leaf clover before the god statue at the trial's end.

With all the loot collected, it's time to head home.

Stepping outside the gate, light floods my vision. As in the game, the exit lies beneath the city bridge.

At night, countless lights illuminate the city, making it vibrant and appealing—another thing I love about this game. The map is enormous yet gorgeously detailed.

‘Wait, I don't remember my home address.’

Actually, I do. When I left this morning, I noted the addresses near my character's neighborhood.

This is why [Super Memory] is so convenient. It helps me remember miscelneous details and accelerates learning through muscle memory. Having once possessed a memory like a sieve, I knew which skill to choose first upon entering this world.

There are many tactics I haven't used in ages that I feared forgetting. Still, I wasted a fantastic glitch.

  Sigh.

  "..."

I also need to gather materials to create a [Mana Core] tonight.

  * *

  7:06 P.M.

After buying a lighter and candle from the convenience store, I hurry home to prepare the [Mana Core] ritual.

[Mana Cores] come in many designs with different purposes, each varying in effectiveness, cast speed, magnification, and power.

The Royal Family's [Mana Core] is purest and most effective, followed by those of the Magic Council and Five Grand Dukes, which are slightly less effective but focus on family-specific effects through Mana circuits.

After six years pying this game, I know all the information intimately. There's no such thing as a "perfect" [Mana Core].

Different Mana circuits focus on certain stats or attack methods. This approach may seem narrow-minded, but concentrating on one magic type can make someone extremely powerful in that specific area.

Five of the Six Great Heroes mastered only one magic type. Yet they aren't the strongest.

The Number One Hero uses various magic types to create the ultimate fighting style. And which [Mana Core] does he use?

No one would guess—the most basic [Mana Core]. He didn't use it mindlessly, but tweaked his circuits to develop it according to his unique style.

  ‘That's the plot, though.’

In-game, many pyers created the strongest characters using the basic [Mana Core]. I followed that path because I wanted to combine different powerful magics with my unique fighting styles.

To form a Mana Core, complete concentration is essential. I thoroughly clean my room to create sufficient space.

I light the candle, turn off all lights, and draw the curtains. Then I sit cross-legged to meditate.

First, I imagine a core shaped like an atom. I begin absorbing surrounding Mana, circuting it around my heart in that spherical shape—the human core.

After several minutes—perhaps dozens—I receive a System notification:

[Congratutions to the owner for unlocking the trait "Basic Mana Core" (F-).] [Achieved potential "Mana" (F-).]

With my Mana core formed, I close my eyes again, imagining Mana pushing out from my palms and maintaining it there.

It only sts 1-2 seconds due to my poor Mana storage and efficiency. I need to [Absorb] Mana into the core and eject it. Fortunately, my [Absorb] ability at rank A+ makes this step retively easy.

I push Mana into my palm until depleted, then repeat continuously. Constant focus is crucial as Mana dissolves easily with lost concentration.

Within minutes, I can perform this without closing my eyes or visualizing.

[The talents "Super Memory" and "Lightning Reflexes" have contributed to creating a new skill.] [Acquired skill "Mana Concentrating" (Lv.1).]

This skill falls under the [Mana] potential branch. Now I can gather Mana more easily and quickly, with improved Mana visualization.

From normal Mana particles gathering at one point on a 2D pne, they now gather with slight depth—a 2.5D environment.

Thanks to [Super Memory], [Lightning Reflexes], and my SS+ rank [Alteration], within two hours I can concentrate Mana on almost any body part.

This is merely the beginning. Next, I must learn Magic.

["Mana" is the resource. "Magic" is using that resource to benefit the User.]

In the bathroom, I take my lighter and begin burning my fingertips.

Discimer: This isn't self-harm! It's a standard method in the game. Don't imitate this—you ck a system and Mana, so there's no point doing this in real life.

  ‘That hurts like hell.’

I immediately plunge my hand into water. My high [Regeneration] stat helps heal the burnt skin quickly.

Since I haven't unlocked the skill yet, I restart the process...

  * *

  One hour ter.

[Host's body begins to develop the trait of "High-Temperature Resistance" (Low).]

My hands are covered in blisters.

In the game, this would be a much simpler process.

I concentrate Mana in my palm while burning my fingers, but pain constantly breaks my focus.

Only after burning my hands bck do I begin understanding fire, transforming pure Mana into a fiery mass. It's not true fire yet, but it's the first step. I then shift it to match the fme's orange-red-yellow color. This seemingly pointless process is crucial.

Mana control involves imagination. "We must attach our emotions and the most familiar elements to Mana to achieve our greatest strength.' - Me, 2023.

After transforming Mana into fmes, I must alter its properties to make it fmmable—a difficult task requiring direct influence on Mana.

Pure Mana cks special properties, easily dissolving into surroundings without an energy source. I try creating friction by rubbing Mana particles against each other at increasing speeds.

I've used almost all my Mana with no result.

"Sigh. I failed yet another time."

  [Acquired skill "Mana Transforming" (Lv.1).]

‘Well, at least I'm still on the right track.’

This skill lets me change Mana properties more easily. I persist, remembering the burning sensation and trying to make Mana self-combustible.

  [Achieved potential "Magic".]

[The Host has learned the first step of "Fire Magic" (Apprentice)!]

  The fme instantly fades.

  "Mission failed successfully!!"

  Sigh.

  "Let's try again."

I conjure fme in my palm but can only maintain it for about one second before it reverts to pure Mana.

  "I don't know what I'm doing wrong."

I examine the [Mana Transforming] skill description:

  ----------

"Mana Transforming" has 3 crucial steps:

Extract natural Mana from the Mana core through bodily Mana circuits. (Rougher, messier circuits reduce effectiveness.) Transform pure Mana by visualization. (Change Mana particle properties to match desired element.) Continue transformation while maintaining Mana flow.----------

All three steps are extremely inefficient due to my poor [Store] ability, consuming excessive Mana with minimal duration.

I'll practice again tomorrow and focus on stabilizing my [Mana Core]. I've accomplished plenty for day one.

Time to unwind with music and recharge in the bathroom after this long day. I should write a diary entry ter to record important information for future reference.

Standing before the mirror, I can no longer ignore the elephant in the room.

  "I have to face it."

In-game, the [Charisma] stat only improved conversation and affection gain. But this isn't just a game anymore—my situation is fundamentally different.

  Sigh.

My reflection reveals a fairly normal face, perhaps slightly below average. The [Charisma] stat likely affects my aura rather than physical appearance.

  [Charisma: 1 (Unrank)]

I need to increase my [Charisma] quickly. Maybe another secret dungeon? I know several hidden Temples...

After journaling and taking additional notes, I colpse into bed.

It's only my first day, so confusion is natural. I never expected to reincarnate into Rainfall Disorder—a game with which I have a complex retionship. It saved me during my darkest period but ter took everything else.

‘Well, I can finally meet the main characters in this world.’

The prospect of meeting characters I've loved and longed to interact with excites me deeply. Especially thinking about my in-game crush makes me giddy.

‘I was probably one of Katia's biggest simps.’

‘I feel like a kid right now.’

Since arriving in this world, I've barely thought about my ex-girlfriend. Somehow, I'm beginning to forget her entirely.
